Most sageuks are male-centric owing to the historical reality that men ruled and the politicking was about which man had more power. I do love when K-dramas attempt to tell a female sageuk story based on a real life historical figure but there are few and far between. But that doesn’t mean female characters and the actresses who play them aren’t able to shine in a male-centric sageuk, its all about the writing and giving these women their due. That happened in The Red Sleeve Cuff as the female servants of the palace took center stage, and I can see upcoming sageuk Red Single Heart putting female lead Kang Han Na in center stage alongside the two male leads Lee Joon and Jang Hyuk. Even in an era where women had little agency they still had feelings and endured, and in the latest stills from the drama I can see Kang Han Na go from bright young woman to serious and subdued in the palace walls. Lee Joon kinda looks pissed either way lol, but hopefully these two as romantic love interests have a bit happy before the inevitable rocks falls down to come.
This year 2024 has been a slow year for K-actress Suzy in terms of her…
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…
Well this is an interesting pairing, setting aside the age difference at least I can…
I swear I just wrote about Song Joong Ki having his first baby and then…
At the end of the day, the core of any good drama remains the Story,…
If I didn't know this drama was a romance set in space and done K-drama…

Kang Han Na is so pretty, talented, and has such a "main character" type of beauty that I'm surprised she's cast as a female lead in a drama only now (if she has been a female lead before, please correct me). She made me root for her in Start Up even with very minimal screentime. The male lead doesn't excite me, but Jang Hyuk's stills really made me hyped for this drama. Looking forward to him and Kang Han Na! Really wishing this will be the next good sageuk after Red Sleeve
Contrary to you the male lead is the biggest reason why I will be tuning in to watch the historical drama for the first time ever. HE IS JUST SO GOOD, PROBABLY MUCH BETTER THAN BOTH LEADS COMBINED.
Well, admittedly, I've only seen one drama of his, so you're probably right and he's better in his other dramas
Lee joon doesn't look pissed in the newer stills tho.. he looks worried in both.
Are you blind he does not look pissed in this newer photos
