Revenge is a dish best served cold but try as I might this entire plot just sounds absurdly implausible and therefore comes across as silly. Upcoming K-drama Eve sells itself with overwrought visuals and intense emotions on everyone’s faces but the core revenge that sets the train in motion is predicated on the thin possibility that a cold, calculating billionaire in a loveless marriage would complicate his life to divorce all for a piece of sexy young ass, pardon my French. For a billionaire dollar plot sure, but for what is essentially sex and companionship then it makes Park Byung Eun‘s antagonist male lead seem way less of a baddie and way more of a pathetic man. And for Seo Ye Ji to spent 12 years plotting this revenge also seems way more work for way less payoff, wouldn’t it be easier to find a way to have the guy murdered, unless she wants to have him to lose everything first before he bites it. She would have to truly believe she’s the world’s most irresistible woman that a man who has it all would throw it all away to “get with her” and that’s the part where Eve can’t lift off for me even on synopsis alone. And don’t get me started on Yoo Sun looking batshit screechy in every preview and still, goodness she can be a bitch without coming across as crazy-eyed all the time. I feel like Seo Ye Ji just took any project that wanted her as a female lead after her scandal and hoped it would just one step at a one build her comeback, otherwise I could never see her doing this drama after her wild success with It’s Okay to Not be Okay. This looks TV Chosun level with B-listers in any other scenario.

It is possible. A prince gave up many titles and his royal family and connections to marry an American D list actress. It could happen.
Haha..true. I also think the plot is not entirely impossible.
R u referring to Prince Harry & Meghan Markle ??? Cuz this sounds like it
Plot sounds plenty plausible to me. Just look at Jeff Bezos.
The plot is definitely realistic. Please take a look at our current real life billionaires, did Jeff bezos not end up with a...... What about his wife married to a high school teacher.
Honestly I thought you disliked Seo yea ji do the constant coverage of the series seems weird to me.
I also read that in between the scandal she was still receiving casting calls, so I doubt she just picked anything. After all she could have stayed away from lime light for a few more years
Or she knows how well makjang sells especially after Penthouse and Show Window that a TV Chosun drama with B-listers would still out rate 39 or any other A-list drama plus rank high on popularity so why not. Penthouse and World of The Married changed the notion that only Korea loves makjang. The trailers already feel blood pressure inducing with the cheating husband and hateful wife trope. Heck even Mine which was insanely boring especially for a makjang managed to hit double digits and get a Baeksang nomination. Eve sounds like a very reasonable choice in that sense. Having said that makjang even the good kinds is not my genre so definitely not watching but that’s not to say this won’t end up being highly rated and popular.
Wow the shade on the plot and FL can't be more obvious. In real life, a King gave up his throne, title, country, royal family, wealth and connections to marry a dried up double divorcee. Exiled to a foreign country. Then his great nephew the future King divorced his famous beautiful young wife who gave him two sons to shackle up with his old dried up mistress. Strangers things have happened.
The King of Thailand married his Deputy Chief of bodyguards and she was also a former flight attendant. Princess Stephanie of Monaco ended up with a elephant trainer from a circus and went as far as moving in with him taking her 3 kids so there are a lot of far fetched relationships. I guess Koala is going to be posting more Eve articles as we get closer to the premiere date even though she dislikes YJ immensely and said that she is not interested in watching the drama.
I am willing to suspend disbelief, although the 12-year preparation period is a valid point. My greater concern here is that the writer does not have a good track record. Her recent dramas were Well-Raised Daughter, Birth of a Beauty, and Tale of a Good Witch.
I'm getting the feeling Yoo Sun's take on the role is similar to the one she had in Goddess of Revenge.
Wow the energy you put into hating a drama that has yet to release or have a full trailer out is astonishing.
If you dislike an actor, better not gave them coverage instead of hating.
Sorry I didn't make it clear what the implausibility was. Of course many rich and powerful men in real life have thrown things away or upended their lives for a woman.
But for the female lead to assume she can be THAT WOMAN in a 12 year revenge plot is like expecting to win the Masters on a hole in one rather than four rounds of good unders.
You can put Elizabeth Taylor at her prime in front of a guy and she may just not be his type, he could be Marilyn all the way. That's all I'm saying, sexy ladies certainly are alluring but to predicate a revenge on her being able to seduce a man when men have varied tastes is what's silly to me. It can happen but seems like such a long shot for her to bank on 12 years earlier when she set the revenge in motion.
I agree with you but apparently SYJ is the only woman of Seoul to be able to seduce any man as Eve was the only one in Eden 😜😁
Well I guess all cats are grey in the dark!
