Hhhmmm, this is not what I expected, but then again it’s also should be expected coming from the Hong Sisters. The first substantive preview is out for fantasy sageuk Alchemy of Souls and it’s a lot more comedic that I expected. Or perhaps the production chose to lead with the comedic scenes first and what we see are Jung So Min‘s previous life being a kickass warrior woman and now she’s in a weak physical body and has to work for Lee Jae Wook‘s bossy rich boy character. I can’t tell on the chemistry yet between the OTP but the two are quite animated onscreen and nicely in character. There are also new stills out of both male leads Lee Jae Wook being all serious and pouty and Minhyun sending the idol boy transported to ancient times vibes.

I was surprised by the comedic ton too. I wonder what this drama wants to be.
Looks like this is a nice drama. Can't wait to watch JungSoMin in her new role from romcom queen to a warrior and a servant. JungSoMin is really a versatile actress.
A mixture of xianxia dramas and idol costume cdramas I see here
