The Wed-Thurs offerings will be dark over on the cable networks for the next two months, now that jTBC has premiered Insider while tvN started Eve just last week. The only option for those looking for lighter fare will have to wait until next week when KBS finishes with Love All Play this Thursday and its followed by Jinxed at First. Back to Insider and Eve, neither are my cup of tea right now, it’s like a very heavy meal and I’m just able to nibble on light cold canapes. Insider stars Kang Ha Neul as a judicial assistant who end up in prison and then has to plot to clear his name and fight back against the baddies. The first episode got 2.568% ratings which is just okay. A lot more attention has been on the tvN Wed-Thurs new drama Eve which premiered last week in the 3% ratings, this Wednesday’s episode 3 dropped in the same range down to 3.009% but I’m not reading too much into the tea leaves yet. If it falls to the 2% range then it’s clear the appetite isn’t there with a broader audience range for the makjang seductress plots revenge methodology.
This year 2024 has been a slow year for K-actress Suzy in terms of her…
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…
Well this is an interesting pairing, setting aside the age difference at least I can…

Sorry to say the chemistry between the chairman and Eve is zero. Just watching it for the storyline to see what she could get out of it. Seo Ye Ji’s acting is fine but I just don’t get any emotional vibes from stone faced actor Park Byung Eun… it’s exhausting to watch something flat that’s “supposedly” seductive, dangerous and sexy… she could probably generate more hotness from a mannequin…..
I'm not really into either of them. I feel bad for any drama put on Wed-Thurs though. Everything, no matter the genre, seems to hover in the 1-4% range. Thirty Nine was the only bright spot.
In the case of Insider, clearly there are lack of promos. This drama only depends on Kang Haneul's star power which might not be really big. I am amazed how Lee Yoo young keeps getting lead role, her acting always feel flat and nothing about her stand out either, I don't think she has memorable performance and role in drama. Maybe she has in movies but so far she is just mediocre in almost all drama she appeared.
I'm also leaning towards breezy lighter fare. Love KHN but skipping Insider. Prepping for his Curtain Call with HJW so currently re-watching Camellia.
Welcome to Wedding Hell is like a salad appetizer for me before launching into Alchemy of Souls next weekend. WTWH 30 min per ep format is just right.
Insider second episode rose to 3.3% against Eve 3%. Haneul's star power may just give him a slight edge.
Actually, Eve dropped to 2.967% while Insider rose to 3.274%.
