There have been so many big name A-list C-stars cancelled in China for tax evasion, the most recently being Deng Lun, that B-list stars and below should know better and yet there is still this happening. This weekend it was revealed that actress Crystal Yuan (Yuan Bing Yan) best known for the period drama Love and Redemption and most recently in the drama My Sassy Princess, is associated with a company fined for tax evasion. She’s a director of production house Chongqing Liyan Culture Media Co., Ltd. which the Chinese government investigated and fined 970,000 Yuan (around $150,000 USD) in taxes and penalties for underreporting taxable income that was spent. Crystal Yuan’s agency has released an apology that all taxes have now been paid, the company has fully cooperated, and she is in deep reflection. She has also resigned her legal representative, manager, and executive director positions at that company. Time will how C-netizens will react to her case.

There is this thing. School violence for k-actors and Tax evasion for c-actors, which could be easily cancelled within a day.
Better pay tax on time,my beloved c-actors. My heart was already broken what happened to Deng Lun. Now Crystal Yuan too 😭
150k missed for a company dealing w/ perhaps millions? If they turned in all paperwork/receipts etc… then the fault should be w/ the account… but since it doesn’t seem like that then they held some info back… but then again… people forget or missed it by accident so let’s not judge all case the same and cancel them. I can assure I missed some of my end of the year to report for tax as well, but in the USA, we file an amend.
