Well, one way to temper small(ish) complaints is to pour so much onscreen chemistry on the viewers that everyone is fanning themselves and no one has time to notice the other stuff anymore. C-drama Love Like the Galaxy is off to 18-episodes aired through three weeks, a glacial pace compared to other streaming high profile dramas which tend to drop 10 episodes a week if not more, but this slow release mirrors the slow burn of the OTP of Wu Lei and Zhao Lu Si. I’m so glad I stuck with the drama, fueled by the suddenly so adult and hot Wu Lei and his General-tastic drama entry swishing capes and riding off and sending hearts fluttering. I’m totally addicted though I do FF through the family stuff and politicking and just savor the OTP moments, which remain few and far between but whenever these two are onscreen in close proximity I always think her panties are going to spontaneously combust and he’s thisclose to just snatching her and riding off into the sunset. Anyways, the Douban ratings came out on Monday and it’s a mid-low 7.4 to start, and for comparison most dramas above 8 are serious fare and these kind of youth romance/xianxia/fantasy C-dramas geared for a younger audience tend to get between 6-8 Douban ratings. For comparison, the highest Douban rated younger gen targeted period C-dramas is Chinese Paladin at 9.2, Word of Honor at 8.6, Bu Bu Jing Xin and Love and Destiny at 8.4, and The Rise of the Phoenixes with 8.2. For the most recent 2022 dramas, My Sassy Princess has 6.7, Who Rules the World is at a lousy 5.8, Heroes with 6.5, and A Dream of Splendor has a high 8.1.
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…
Well this is an interesting pairing, setting aside the age difference at least I can…
I swear I just wrote about Song Joong Ki having his first baby and then…
At the end of the day, the core of any good drama remains the Story,…
If I didn't know this drama was a romance set in space and done K-drama…
If Wang Xing Yue ever needs extra money he can be a professional dubber for…

I'm watching it and have to clutch my heart every time the suddenly so adult, hot and general-tastic WuLei appears....hahahaaha. He used to be my forever Fei Liu, not anymore....
Wu Lei is one of the rare few young chinese male actors who fits the military general role. He is well-built, has basic martial art skills (I think, please correct me if I'm wrong) and can properly ride horses.
You are 100% right @Lilith. Wu Lei knows the basic of martial arts since he has done many martial arts -related movies. He knows how to ride in the horse well because they really need to practice it / train on it if they need to use it in a drama or movie. In My Parents, My Country movie he had an accident while training using horse so he rested after that movie has done. Actor Wu Jing was his one mentors in martial arts and horse riding.
Have fum watching it on YT. He basically is a a very versatile actor and he knows his craft, he knows hpw to improve it. I beg to disagree when AX said he didnt taken out yet his child actor image. She said he isn't that there yet. But I think he has already taken out that image since he knows how to deal with acting and with all his roles with versatility.
Same here. I fell inluv with Fei Lu & watched maybe 30x til date. Then i loved him again in The Long Ballad. He looks so skinny in LLTG. He's more gorgeous in TLB.
I watched an interview he did where he said he kept himself on the skinny side for this role on purpose. He said he felt it suited the look he wanted for General Ling’s character and that he wanted the character to look almost sickly occasionally.
Whoa that general - tastic description is so right! I love Wu Lei since I watched Nirvana on Fire 1; very admirable and adorable young actor. Yeah @ Lady Bird he aint the Fei Liu anymore. Now he is the super HOT General Ling Bu Yi. Ohhh How I love this drama.
I just hate that I am always anxious in waiting for its schedule every week. I am really trying to not watch it and save the eps but I really cant. I need to refresh my eyes with Ling Bu Yi and Cheng Shaoshang. 😁😁😁 I miss my young general.
Speaking of NiF, does anyone have any recs for similar dramas?? I've tries all the popular ones but none come close for me, not even its sequel.
@Jina I'm not sure which drama genre are you referring to when you say similar to Nirvana in Fire. If you like dramas that showcases politics, then I'll recommend The Advisors Alliance (there's part 1 and part 2). There's no handsome guys there but it is a well-made drama.
Zhao Lu Shi is quite lucky. All her dramas always generate some kind of buzz; whether good or bad. Lol
That's because Tencent is investing in her and gave her a bunch of good dramas to promote her.
They are perfectly paired in this drama, and she was handpicked actually by Director Fei (according to his interview). Her role in Who Rules The World proved she can play fighting scenes herself with a cool, badass attitude, or royal domineering queen, in addition to her previous romantic roles. And I believe she is the best choice for Leo first romantic roles, as her chemistry with all her male actors is amazing ( just looking at the behind scenes with Yang Yang , in addition to those on screen, will give you an idea).
I’ve grown a little obsessed with this drama. I love the chemistry between Wu Lei’s Ling Bu Yi and Zhao Lu Si’s Cheng Shao Shang (icing on cake that this is a age compatible pair of actors—I couldn’t get into Wu Lei-Dilireba pairing much as I almost did). The way he looks at her so intently that sold me on the romance.
Wu Lei (the actor in real life) come across to me as a Chinese version of atom Holland. Which is win-win because Tom Holland can do no wrong to me.
YES - the intense stares, lovey dovey googly eyes... woooooo *fans self*
He is a very good actor. I love hims so much.I wish to see him in more Drama

I didn't follow him at all post Nirvana of Fire.
All I know is that they are about the same age and he is so intense on screen. ZLS is ZLS she is the same in all her dramas and I've watched so many of her dramas.
But the male lead is intense and magnetic so I am quite addicted to this show.
ZLS is a good actress and all are dramas is not d same
I love d chemistry between male and female lead
WuLei is totally a shock for me of this suddenly adult and hot. Hahaha. Yes, I love ZLS and watched most of her dramas. However, I'm starting to see her still the same her. I think it's time for her to change and do more challenging work profile.
She is still young still 23 yrs old. She still can do rom-com for a few more years that's alright.
@ck10z I agree with you, ZLS basically has the same face and acting in all her dramas. It is not that I am anot amazed with her acting but I think she has not gone to a role yet that she will be like a dirty one or that will reverse her image one she is always in the princess roles / or rich one. The drama that I really love from her end is DIK. That one is perfect for her. I hope she will have a role like assassin in the future or with psychological condition or just how Zhou Dong Yu took her versatile roles. I love to see her like in the plot of Better Days; that would be an epic if I see her like that shivering from scaredness. I hope in the future, fingers crossed. I believe in her so she needs to take out herself from that sweet image.
For Wu Lei- all I can say is all praises. I know him since NIF1 going to all the different roles he had in the drama. I love Fei Liu as much as I love the naughty and proud Hu Yifeng of TWG, same with Zheng Yuxing of Upcoming Summer and all characters in his modern dramas. He is one of my favs and he really nails his character as General LBY in LLTG. He makes my heart swoon and he is handsome. Super magnetic charisma.
i've heard a lot about upcoming summer! what did you think of the movie? i'm watching him in the long ballad right now to fill the lltg void, and he's just so good. naturally charismatic and commanding presence, magnetic is JUST the word for him.
Related to ZLS I just hope in the future ZLS will take roles like how ZDY has chosen her roles like in Better Days. I wanna see her in roles like assassin or with psychological condition or in any roles that she needs to show a depth emotions or any roles that will take out her sweet image. That kind of acting will elevate her to a more serious actress however I always love ZLS even she is always sweet in her characters. I love her in Dating in the Kitchen.
Same with you. Zhao Lusi character are still the same from her previous drama. All drama rather.
this drama came out of nowhere and has suddenly taken over my life. i love both of the main leads so much, and their chemistry is FIRE even with the limited screentime they've shared so far. hopefully, we'll be seeing a lot more of them together after the latest development.
also have to give a shoutout to the production quality, bc holy shit! the set pieces, the costumes, the art direction and cinematography! it's all so cinematic and greatly pleasing to the eyes, and elevates the story to another level.
really glad to hear the drama is getting good reviews now. do douban ratings generally increase as the drama airs or is this more or less the locked rating?
I'm bummed this isn't on Netflix so that I can stream it easily on my TV
the commentary on viki is great
I haven't used Viki in forever, but based on your comments I'm assuming there's still an opinion to see comments as you watch the episode lol
Agreed, Viki commentaires are good
You can stream it from kisskh as well as viki to chromecast
I have the complete opposite opinion lol I think Wu Lei is extremely wooden in this. He seems to think stoic = pursing lips and frowning.
It's the script ( and the novel): he starts as the ascetic, cold, ruthless general- with angular face, piercing eyes and stuck up attitude. Once he starts falling for the heroine, his eyes warm up, a smile relax his lips and his face starts to soften his moves become fluid and gentle..His portrayal of character is perfection, until now !
Awesome just awesomeness
