If this turns into another Kairos I’m good with it, objectively that was one of the best dramas in 2021 albeit super low rated and the same PD is behind Adamas and so far it’s not a promising start. The thriller investigative drama premiered last week but most of South Korea is in an Extraordinary Attorney Woo collective euphoria so airing in the same time slot is basically the worst timing ever. Episode 1 got 3.502%, then 2.849% for episode 2, and now episode 3 came up to 3.339%. Kairos took a few episodes to get going and hook me good but I started midway in due to the rave reviews from the small group of fans watching and that worked out better as I could marathon to the really addicting parts before live-watching. I’m planning to do that with Adamas as well but if anyone is watching now please share some initial reviews!

I only watched episode 1 and didn't like that it's heading to a heist drama direction because of the stealing of adamas. It felt like there were so many secrets to be uncovered about the chaebol family and the dad connection but I was just thinking about how many episodes it will take before the story takes off and it's just not for me. I only tuned in because of Ji Sung and Seo Ji Hye (missed her after watching Kiss Sixth Sense).
I haven't watch Kairos so cannot compare, but I get similar feels to Stranger/ Forest of Secrets - it's a slow burn mystery drama with solid acting and high quality production. And emphasis on SLOW - if it weren't for Seo Ji Hye, I might have dropped this or leave it to watch after it's complete its run for a long holiday staycation. If you enjoyed how Bloody Heart played out its plot like slow peeling of an apple/ orange, you'd enjoy this - however so far the tension/ chemistry between cast members isn't that pronounced yet, except maybe between Ji Sung and Heo Sung Tae
I like it. The acting is good and it has a simmering tension that I like. It's too bad it's on Wed-Thurs and is being drowned out be EAW.
Unfortunately, I don't think it will gain the small but devoted fanbase Kairos did, internationally at least, thanks to Disney+. So many dramas they picked up deserved better.
