Rookie Actress Joo Hyun Young Breaks Out with First Drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo Playing Park Eun Bin’s Best Friends and Nets 13 CFs in One Month
The largesse of the Extraordinary Attorney Woo success isn’t just reserved for the core leads but a rookie actress in a supporting role is gaining noticeable momentum. Joo Hyun Young hit a homerun on her first at bat as this drama is her first acting role and she not going picked a winner her character is also such a great friend. She plays Dong Geurami the best friend since high school of female lead Woo Young Woo played by Park Eun Bin. She’s independent, fiery, loyal and pitch perfect with her comic relief. She totally caught my eye through the first five episodes (where I’m currently at with my watch) and was surprised to find out she’s a rookie at acting though she debut already in the industry by being on SNL Korea. Her breakout with this drama is already netted her 13 CFs in the past month and prior to that she was cast in the upcoming tvN drama Call My Agent so she’ll be back on the small screen in the fall.

Either way she is way way better than some actresses whom people try to justify. I am torturing myself now watching 2 idols being so bad but I want to see the end of the story because I like 1 actress in the drama. But omg, the torture watching bad acting.

That's great, happy for her, she can act and she looks like a smart actress (i.e. studies her role and intentional in her acting). How about PEB, how many new CFs did she bag due to EAW? Can't wait for PEB's new projects.
It's nice for her. But her role is not complicated, but it's really fun.
It's really PEB who hard carried the drama. The other actors are good too, they have a good comedic sense but their characters are not so developped. If KTO is very swoony in this role (hug chair comment was the best :p), I don't understand how he got first on the buzzworthy actors list.
I'd say Joo Hyunyoung broke out with SNL Korea where she demonstrated her wit and acting ability through portraying a wide range of distinct characters. She literally went from acting crew to the show's darling in a year. So I consider "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" as a project which further cemented her status as talent to watch over. There has been a lot of actors and idols on SNL, but few became overnight famous and were critically acclaimed.
