Art is 100% subjective and even the most out there artworks have their creators and fans. With that said, there is a majority zone by which art is enjoyed and the weirder art tends to fall outside that norm. K-actress Han So Hee has been posted art pictures on her Instagram lately and even her fans are not very uncomfortable with what she’s posting. Not that she’s doing anything wrong but it’s not drawing of things and styles that would appeal to most people. I find the sketches and paintings not to my taste and art like food is what you find enjoyable for sure.

I used to follow Han So Hee on IG before she got famous. She was so into macabre stuff back then too but she deleted all of earlier posts after break out.
*insert blinking guy meme GIF*
No, but seriously, I actually like that she shows personality in her social media. I get that it can be too much for some people, but I appreciate that her IG isn't the typical safe K-star IG account (not that there's anything wrong with playing safe either, we know how ruthless K-netz can be for the littlest things lol)
Even her styling is edgy, and I like that. She could've gone the typical girl-next-door route, but she didn't, which is refreshing. Just my opinion
This post has real #notlikeothergirls energy. Posting grotesque art doesn't make you 'cool'.
I respectfully disagree. Not saying it makes her cool necessarily, but I like that she's not afraid of what others will say. Also, just because someone has a more niche interest doesn't mean she's an NLOG. I'm sorry, but saying things like that is why we have NLOGs in the first place. I'm not victimizing NLOGs, but as someone who had that phase in high school, I know for me it's because I was judged for not having mainstream interests, so I just wore it like an armor, like “okay, I'm weird, I'm not like you all, what you gonna do about it?”. I don't have that mentality anymore, thankfully, but I just want to offer some perspective.
For me, having a niche/non-mainstream interest doesn't equal being NLOG as long as the girl/woman is not putting down other girls for being basic or whatever.
English isn't my first language, so I don't know if I've explained that properly, but yeah, I disagree. It's sort of like what people are saying about Billie Eilish, but if I recalled correctly, she never put other girls down, she's just minding her own business and dressing how she likes and somehow people took that as her being NLOG. Again, just my opinion, I respect yours
You’re assuming her posting grotesque art is her trying to be “cool”.
You could be completely right, or ridiculously wrong. She could really be #notlikeothergirls and that’s her choice. Doesn’t make her “cool” but doesn’t matter to anyone else either.
@historia thank you, well put. so tired of catty women assuming someone with an edgy/tomboyish style is “nOt LiKe OtHeR gIrLs” when she's just living her life and not even trying to be superior to other women. had that happen to me. I hang out with a lot of guys because they have the same interest as me. I don't even put down other girls or make fun of them in front of my guy friends (and I also have female friends), but women be calling me a pick-me 🙄
Not like other girls, pick-me, cool girl... I was so happy at first when those terms were coined because those girls have internalized misogyny and deserve to be called out, but seems like catty/mean girls just throw those words around now and misuse them to label women who are just living their lives 🙄
posting something not for everyone cup of tea isnt notlikeothergirl energy tbh. im glad she not afraid express her self in social media. it might be jarring since she is celebrity but she doesnt hurt anyone either so i think it just fine.
"Grotesque art". Goebbels has entered the chat.
She needs HELP! Art is an expression of your soul. IF YOU MAKE THESE STUFF, thats what you feel.
VAN GOGH may have dark elements in his painting style and yet end up in suicide. How much her paintings are grotesque???
I agree. Looking at most k celebs IG accounts, it's so obvious they have a team to post for them, rare to see some personal touch/character/personality
If people don't like it, then too bad 🤷
I'm agreeing with @historia btw
I can understand why the images are unsettling, but it is also nice to see a celebrity attempt to retain a little of themselves in their IG stream. It made me think wistfully of Go Ara's early IG feed. Not as dark as Ms Han's but devoted to her personal love of photography and often featuring non-mainstream artists and galleries. Now, it's all blandified, as business sense dictates
Exactly what I'm saying. I agree
I'm sorry but this is really silly. If it makes her fans uncomfortable then they can unfollow her, simple as that. From what I see here, that's her personal styl e and the aesthetic she is into. Just because she's conventionally attractive doesn't mean she'll have an aesthetic that fits into whatever box they consider to be acceptable or pretty.
It's not about being cool or different, just allowing grown adults being allowed to express their style without feeling like something is wrong with them.
people are afraid that she is having a hard time currently, not that she is trying to be different. apparently sully drew this types of drawings just before she passed. i think people are uncomfortable as in they are worrying her.
Indeed, if I were her mum and saw her drawings, I would be terribly worried about her. I would imagine that any truly happy person would not express herself in gruesome tormented looking drawings.
Good for her! I hope she continues to post what she wants to. As someone who also likes the darker arts this makes me like her more.
Nothing new.
She has been posting such drawings in the past before she got famous.
She also posted photos of herself in tattoos/smoking too.
These drawings and photos were deleted after her popularity rose.
She is now comfortable being her old self.
