The slow march to premiere has started for upcoming Mon-Tues KBS drama Curtain Call, which actually feels more like a Sat-Sun tvN fare if you ask me. I’m still super excited but not expecting major ratings for the network or time slot, but only hoping for a really wonderful drama that tugs at my heartstrings. The first OTP stills are out with Kang Ha Neul and Ha Ji Won and nnnnnggggg they look so good together! He’s the down to earth local actor hired to play pretend North Korean grandson and she’s the hotel president real granddaughter that has to play along to make dying granny’s final wish. There’s fauxcest on the horizon plus lots of opportunities for drama both big and small. I can’t wait!

I'm going to get hate for this but.... she looks significantly older than him and I don't see any romantic vibes. That first photo looks like a mother getting her son ready for church.
The stylist shouldn't have styled HJW so matronly. The bun style and dress are so old fashioned. I was expecting them to make her look like SYJ in CLOY. Maybe KBS ran out of budget for the wardrobe. Lol.
I don't have hopes either for high ratings. For some reasons most KBS primetime dramas from Mon to Fri have below average or miserable ratings in the summer right up till now. Hope Curtain Call can break that slump. For KBS, their best dramas are the weekend ones. I'm currently addicted to Young Lady and Gentleman which is unsurprisingly a hit in my country's Netflix considering its low Asian population. A whopping 6.9 million viewers tuned in for episode 48. Lee Se Hee, to quote a fellow fan is a crying machine in that drama.
The 6.9 million ppl I mentioned are SK viewers not my country's Netflix viewers.
That’s nothing new. It’s only South Korea and China which consistently show older women with younger men even if they look older. In the young lady and gentle the female lead is decades younger and people don’t have a problem with that. Gendered ageism is of course real and it manifests everywhere and we see stories like Leonardo di caprio only dating early twenties women as long as they are legal. I would be surprised if this drama is a hit but it’s important that these dramas which show older women exist so it’s important to know that older women exist in society
Eh, if you'd watched On Air and believe more or less it's true, then it's not KBS responsibility to provide wardrobe, it's the actors' stylists after their concept is approved by the writer and maybe director. Now whether or not an actor can get sponsored high-end brand wardrobes, it depends on the skills of the stylist, manager, and team (not so popular actor), or the marketibility of the actor (popular actor).
No matter what the "Ha Ji Won" haters call the casting or bully her, i am. Still anticipating this drama. Fingers crossed.
I'm so excited for this one. It sounds like an old typical Kdrama. I love both actors!
Ha Ji Won looks so good, mature like fine wine.
Was hoping for a more mature gorgeous lead male like Hyun Bin or Jung Woo Sung.
Honestly, the only time I saw Ha Ji Won with the right male partner was Yoon Kye Sang in Chocolate.
I had high hopes then that they would end up together because their chemistry on and off cam were natural and fun.
Both look good together, too.
Check out their first appearance as presenters during Baeksang Awards 2019.
Ha Ji Won hasn't been on the radar for a while and I'm glad she's back. I will watch this since both leads are notable actors and tend to have great dramas.
HJW actually looks young considering her age but to pair her with KHN is a bit too much. The gap is obvious.
