I know how to feels to love a drama and just want moooooar of that crack but more often than not knowing when to stop creates a better product. SBS Fri-Sat hit legal drama One Dollar Lawyer with Namgoong Min hit that coveted 15% ratings last week thanks to good writing for a flashback and a chemistry-laden cameo by Lee Chung Ah but this week comes the hammer. Turns out the drama will end at a brisk 12-episodes and this week’s episode 9 will be the sole episode airing. Next weekend there will be one episode as well aired and then the subsequent weekend comes the finale two episodes. K-viewers are sad to hear this drama isn’t running for the standard 16-episodes and are now clamoring for a season 2. If that happens then it’ll be interesting to see SBS perhaps really develop the seasonal muscle as it’s doing with the medical drama Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim now headed into season 3.
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…
Well this is an interesting pairing, setting aside the age difference at least I can…
I swear I just wrote about Song Joong Ki having his first baby and then…
At the end of the day, the core of any good drama remains the Story,…
If I didn't know this drama was a romance set in space and done K-drama…

I was wondering why there is only one ep released but it has been two days gone already, so they would end it in 12 eps only and 1 ep per week. Ahhh, my heart can't absorb it. Wae???
Actually I like the 12-episode of some k-dramas these days.
I enjoy the flashback of One Dollar Lawyer.
The chemistry between NGM and LCA was excellent.
The story is nothing new and the drama rests on NGM only. I don't think 12 episodes only is a bad idea but I don't see the potential for a second season.
Golden Spoon must be happy with that, their drama is pretty meh but they will get more audience.
I'm okay with that if it is to deliver a good production even if in this case , the lawyer could have taken various cases as Attorney WDW . It will be good if they do the same with the rom com that are airing . I dropped one after one . I used to be a big rom com lover but after a bunch of boring ones i began to watch thrillers, legal drama,... Actually i'm watching Blind and it's not bad at all . I feel for the cast and crew as the ratings aren't good .
Yes, Blind is surprisingly good!
Deserves better ratings.
Any ideas why they did that? Personally I think the drama's a fail masquerading as a hit thanks entirely to NGM.
which part of the drama is considered as fail honestly in your opinion?
Was that always the case? If it is, that’s probably WHY it’s been so good. The network wants to milk the ratings since they have been high for the ad money. Drama writers seem inept at writing a solid plot for 16 episodes…I’m tired of Korean viewers whining about seasons being too short for good dramas but if the same drama was longer and the quality took a hit after the 9-12th episode, they’d be whining too.
The 12-episode run is not the issue by itself; it's the fact that it was initially expected to be a 16-episode drama when it was first announced, then it turned out to be scheduled for 14 episodes (implicitly, when SBS announced a November 11 premiere for The First Responders). Now, they're cutting it to 12 for "quality" reasons. Very, very curious and unprecedented, because you'd think they'd try to milk a ratings hit.
