Since the C-drama version of The Golden Hairpin will never see the light of day, all hopes to see the story adapted are on tvN drama Our Blooming Youth premiering in February 2023. The group poster is strangely like a youth sageuk, a high school drama-esque poster but set in Joseon era. I can see the blooming youth aspect for sure but don’t know how that vibe matches with the source material. The teaser is totally different in mood, a mystery thriller focused on Park Hyung Sik‘s supposedly cursed Crown Prince character in a quick cut montage of action and tense scenes. All in all the whole promo start has been all over the place but perhaps this drama just has that many different aspects to coalesce into a cohesive story once we see the final product.

I always wonder what's with these production companies adapting very obviously female centric novels to focus on the male character. I don't even remember the male lead's role in this book.
Ikr. But the writer alrdy said before filming that they won’t adapt Tgh novel anymore and make a new story instead. While the plot looks like similar to tgh, let’s see if they rly changed it or still the same.
