I had thought the MBC fantasy romance drama Kokdu: Season of Deity (Season of Kkokdu) would be more whimsical and melancholy, what with the Grim Reaper going on a forced vacation and all that existential issues. But the latest poster and preview continue to take this drama into full comedic territory and even flirting with cheesiness. I’m still looking forward to it for Kim Jung Hyun‘s comeback of sorts but the tone plus my zero reaction at all times to Im Soo Hyang is a bit concerning that it’ll just end up that the usual sounds good on paper but falls flat in execution romance K-dramas I get excited for only to drop in the first week. The drama premieres end of January in the Fri-Sat time slot.
