C-drama Unchained Love has aired 22-episodes out of the total 36 so it’s into the final stretch of airing and I thought to check in. Surprisingly the reviews and audience feedback is getting better, I noticed since about episode 14 the chatter has turned positive and not just from the diehard fandom. I think it’s much too long for a drama to start getting good as most general viewers will have left by then but it’s also a positive thing for the drama ultimately as it can win back viewers and also hope for a solid complete airing when it finishes. I don’t think this drama will deliver another boost to Dylan Wang‘s popularity the way Love Between Fairy and Devil did but at least it doesn’t hurt it and he’s staying in the limelight consistently to maintain his buzz.

Drama could have even been better had they didn't cut some scenes...All intimate scenes have been deleted and for a drama whose main theme is romance, that was not a wise thing to do... (It has totally dampened my excitement/enthusiasm)
Panda_eyes you are right….
Guess they may have cut the kissing scene too…
But overall the show does get better… which is good as Chinese dramas tend to stray off after episode 15
And considering this show was filmed before LBFAD then I think Dylan does show varied range of emotions here
And even Yukee is slipping into her role comfortably, and I like her better here than in her two recent shows, the modern time travel and the messy fantasy epic with Li Yi Feng
Sorry for typing here but koala, 3 body problem is finally coming. I am so happy!
All the deleted kissing scenes could have added in the chemistry that some people think they still lack.
Lame 😑
I was wondering which drama was filmed first. UL before LBFAD makes sense. (LBFAD has some intense emotional scenes for Dylan Wang, and it just feels more recent.)
I initially tried this drama out because Dylan Wang was in it, but I ended up staying because I like the feisty feminist female lead. She just wants to be in control of her own life, and she'll do whatever she can to reach that goal. I have no idea how she will achieve that, given the circumstances, but hey, it's fiction, so I'm crossing my fingers. (I don't watch many Cdramas so I don't know if they are usually sad or happy endings.)
Glr … I read somewhere that the novel has a happy ending
So hopefully the production company will stick to that
Dylan wang always delivers great actor
If anything director cut to many love scenes but love Dylan will buy DVD
