The upcoming tvN sageuk Our Blooming Youth remains one of my more anticipated early 2023 K-dramas, a combination of the leads and the story being adapted/inspired from the C-novel The Golden Hairpin. You have a brilliantly smart female lead cross-dressing to run away from a falsely accused murder of her entire family and needing to both clear her name and avenge the massacre. Coupled with a complex and emotionally suffering crown prince male lead with his own agenda and mystery to solve, and itโs a recipe for great onscreen narrative development as they band together. The latest preview shows leads Park Hyung Sik and Jeon So Nee separately in danger which is probably what makes their working together all the more critical to mutually achieve their own individual needs.

My body is ready.
I'm very excited for this!
Please, please let this be good! ๐๐ผ
But the Korean side will never admit it was inspired from that novel. I mean no recent articles ever mention it. The sad thing is if one day China decided to release The Golden Hairpin and the unaware of such info and also China hater noticed the similarities, they'd just accuse China as copycat. again. as usual. Even more if they think Korea is number one and can do no wrong, always the trendsetter, the source of original ideas.
Im ready seated for this
I really like Park Hyung Sik. He has this kind eyes and sincere aura that makes him a good protagonist in dramas. He also do the saeguk genre well. I watched Hwarang and Happiness because of him.
