There is a spate of period dramas filmed and waiting to air but modern romance C-drama Hidden Love feels like a refreshing outlier in its own school yard romance genre. It’s at least college era so both leads Chen Zhe Yuan and Zhao Lu Si are going back a few years in ago but believably. This week the drama hit the 1.5 million reservations mark on Youku, a sign of strong interest buoyed by a popular source manhua and also the two leads. I’m just here for the lovely promo material, it gives off strong fresh and sweet first love vibes.

Chen Ye Yuan must got some strong backing because he was able to be lead in so many dramas in short period of time. All his upcoming dramas seems decent and all notable costars as well. The guy got the looks and I do his screen presence. I guess some people just have the luck.
