So we just started the month of May in 2023 so the initial discussion last year that Arthdal Chronicles 2 will air in the first part of 2023 is clearly not happening. But whether it will be ready for a premiere later this year or end up a 2024 drama is still unclear. What’s clear is that the drama wrapping filming this week and the four leads Lee Jun Ki, Shin Se Kyung, Jang Dong Gun, and Kim Ok Bin along with the entire cast attending a celebratory wrap party and did a cute cake cutting. It was around a full year’s worth of filming so this was quite a commitment for the cast and now I’m starting to be more optimistic about whether the underwhelming original first season story was worth a casting reboot and story continuation.
This year 2024 has been a slow year for K-actress Suzy in terms of her…
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…
Well this is an interesting pairing, setting aside the age difference at least I can…
I swear I just wrote about Song Joong Ki having his first baby and then…
At the end of the day, the core of any good drama remains the Story,…
If I didn't know this drama was a romance set in space and done K-drama…

I rather enjoyed season1. Not thrilled about the recasting, but I am very much looking forward to see what will happen next!
Yes please may I have it? Thank you.
LJK looks like a character right out of a manga in that photo of him holding flower gifts. 😂
I loved the first one, but the recast makes me not want to watch it. Maybe it's become I'm too emotionally attached to Song Joong-ki as Sa-ya and Eunseom. Don't get me wrong. I love Lee Joon-gi. But, I just see Joong-ki as the best person to portray the twins. I might give the first couple of episodes a go to see what they do, but if they depart from the feel of the first season I'll be done.
Lee Jun Ki always suits sageuk. I love him much better in sageuk than in modern drama.
I don't like the first season of Arthdal. Nothing to do with the actors' performances (they were all good except Kim Ji Won who were underwhelming) but more due to lackluster directing.
I hope they will fare better in the second season and I will give it a try for the sake of watching Lee Jun Ki being all glorious in sageuk.
I enjoyed the first season. It's different from the usual historical kdramas we are used to but it is an excellent production. I'm not so happy about the recasting. I believe Song Joong-ki is the best person for the role. Regardless, I'm looking forward to this new season
Was curious about how Lee Junki looked as Saya, he looks flawless!
If season 1 was so "underwhelming", they wouldn't have enough interest to make a 2nd season.
The 1st season was clearly considered AMAZING by many!
I LOVED it & have watched it 3 times by sharing with others!) It is a new, fresh story, is well acted; the costuming, sets, & worldbuilding were all well done & were exciting!
I know we often get attached to our lead actors & it's hard to switch, but sometimes it is unavoidable.
I remember some people complained about every new Spider-Man actor, but Garfield & Holland are as beloved as Maguire because each actor brought their talents & personalities to a singular character.
SJK is an amazing actor, we get it is hard to imagine anyone else being Eunseom/Sa-ya but don't be unfair to LJK by not even giving him a chance. LJK is a wonderful actor as well.
If you don’t watch seasons 1 & 2 back to back, then the casting switch won't be so glaring. The storyline probably won't go the way you imagined it from S1's ending anyway, (long before we even knew there would be a S2, because we know most Kdramas are season 1 & done).
Just enjoy the ride as it unfolds!!
