I thought Lim Ji Yeon looked absolutely beautiful at last week’s 2023 Baeksang Awards where she took home the Best Supporting Actress award in the drama category for her no holds barred performance as the villainess in The Glory. But her beautiful came at the expense of looking more like a beautiful bride and wearing what is an uninteresting gown in design and color. She shared multiple pics on her SNS this week showing her wearing a slew of gowns during the selection process so it’s a great peek inside how K-actresses are dressed in terms of the types of gowns provided. And in this case, other than the last dress a fuschia strapless drape pleat column gown, the one she ended up picking was probably her best pick. Thank god she didn’t go with the ones made out of curtains and/or table cloth lol.

I would have chosen any dress except the one she did that looks like a weddding gown...
Yep her choice was definitely the best. It's like a one eyed man being the king in a kingdom of blind people
Looolllllllllllll. What the heck, i read this in my native language lol
Lol
The black and white polka? dress looks good on her. With the right hair and necklace she can look dazzling in that dress
I like this dress design also (even though the material looks cheap). Her figure is really good. Put her hair up and add some expensive diamond necklace & earrings, she can go to the Oscars rather than attending a wedding. LOL.
Agreed. That dress had the best silhouette. The others are just different colours of the same thing. But what do you expect from Korean red carpets?
The magenta ballgown! ❤️ Works well with her skin tone and jet black hair. Bright jewel tones are so lacking in these red carpet events. Her final choice was pretty in design but washed her out.
For real! She has a very high-contrast coloring (I think she's some kind of Winter in the color season system), and I love how she's dressed in the right colors most of the time in The Glory (the hot pink jacket and skirt!).
I like the style of the dress she eventually chose to wear in Baeksang, just wish it's in a brighter color lol
actually still found nothing about her entire selection stood out, including the final chosen one. the black/white polka dot one had potential but could also go very wrong. all of them looked quite plain and the material kinda on the cheap side. k-actresses just cant dress like c-actresses who always bring their red carpet A-game.
This just shows that the final decision on what to wear to red carpet events rests on the actresses themselves and if their dresses look awful then it's all on them.
