The Chinese title for The Legend of Shen Li is Yu Feng Xing (Walking with Phoenix) so we’re in the presence of a celestial beast that rivals the mystical dragon to start off. The drama adaptation stars Zhao Li Ying and Lin Geng Xin in a reunion of their Princess Agents success and massive fandom paired with a popular source novel. I’ve loved the promos for this drama which leans in heavily on Zhao Li Ying’s S-level status and her growth as an actress, here she is THE SHIT a top celestial phoenix and general and falls from the sky and turns into a ragamuffin who needs to work for her keep but it’s so adorable and epic. I hope this isn’t another bait and switch but the first trailer is totally my shiz.

I actually wanted to see the shenanigans Shenli experiences in the human world in her helpless phoenix form. But I guess it might not translate well into screen that Lin Gengxin acts coy and cutesy with an animal 😆
