The summer 2023 C-drama block party continues on unabated with rumored big arrival Legend of Anle joining the fun today July 12th. Youku premiered the drama as expected with just a few new posters and stills and legit no promos until the day of. The drama stars Dilraba Dilmurat and Gong Jun as star crossed lovers with a kingdom at stake and plenty of betrayal behind them, with the addition of Liu Yu Ning as the second male lead just to throw more potential angst to the fray. I’m excited and curious what the first impressions are of the story, production values, leads, and chemistry.

hello koala, there is this sleeper time-travel romance dark horse "An ancient Love song" made with low budget, unknown actors and scored 8.5 on Douban. I loved the show and hope you'll like it too!
Weak premier. English subs on Youku were quite bad and they released only one episode.
Reviews are mixed. They said she always reprised similar roles of costume dramas as Yang Zi did with her dramas too. Dilraba reminded me of her role in The Long Ballad again. I guess it's a convenient choice for actors to pick similar projects to meet recycled acting demand. But two liuiang pairing together seemed to work on hot search online so far. I'm more interested in Gong Jun's role than Dilraba's character whose audacity looked extremely out of place and unreasonable. Too early to tell if they have chemistry yet. Odd for viewers to expect chemistry right off the premiere.
I watched ep1. Cheaply produced with 5-cent CGI. LOL. Too many weaknesses besides that including dubbing out of sync, tacky make-up for Dilraba, Gong Jung looking so bland and his line hardly understandable without reading Chinese subs, to just name a few. The drama doesn't appear to have any intriguing point to pique my interest. I saw the same actress Dilraba as her different roles in other dramas. No chemistry between the OTP yet although it's still too early to tell. But the series already set a bad premiere for me to follow. I'll drop it and may come back to try again when I don't have anything to watch.
It's overhyped like many of Dilraba's dramas, very disappointing. C ent nowadays has produced very few period dramas worth watching. Nonetheless, two liuliang starring this drama may still draw staunch fans to boost up viewership.
Dilrada is both a good actor and stunning beauty it's a shame that her talent isn't utilised with a worthy script to showcase her talent I love historical dramas and it's time producers give fans a worthy script and stop being so lazy stop blaming actors for production blunders and use the talents of actors the chemistry between Dilrada and ML is worth watching they look so good together a really pretty pair
