• Some interesting choices indeed. Probably based it off who could make it on the night but it’s business so whatevs. GHJ’s choice of clothing is questionable but damn, KGE’s is worse to me.

  • Agree. GHJ and KGE’s dresses are head-scratchers if they had stylists but basing on what they usually wear casually, I am not surprised. These two are not known to be stylish.

    I love JHB, Suzy, PSH’s gowns the most. Elegant and classy but not too simple.

  • Yeah, not only is Kim Go Eun's dress terrible, but also she looks so... unfinished, like she's not even wearing makeup and her hair is unstyled too. What was her stylist thinking lmao
    Gong Hyo Jin's style is quirky and unconventional, for sure, and I hate the hair, but at least she still looks like she's going to an awards show. Kim Go Eun on the other hand... 🤦

• Isn't this the award body that's considered an "attendance award" show? Is that still a thing? Anyway...PEB and Atty. Woo were not nominated because the Blue Dragon series nominees are only for shows exclusively on OTT platforms, like Squid Game. If PEB was part of the nominees, she would've won Daesang again.

  • No, it's not only for the OTT platforms, there are nominees too for SBS, KBS and TVN.

    • “The Blue Dragon Series Awards considers only original dramas and variety shows produced and invested in by streaming services offered in Korea, including Netflix, Disney+, seezn, Apple TV+, WATCHA, wavve, Kakao TV, Coupang Play, and TVING.” It’s not necessarily KBS and TVN, but rather KBS2 and TVING. This just means that they bypass cable altogether. So none of the nominees, from my understanding, aired on cable at all. They just aired on the various streaming services that are available in Korea. I think the only show that should not have been nominated was Cheer Up due to it airing on SBS.

• Korean awards are so small time, they basically award idols and trendy folks like Suzy or Song Hyekyo as long as they have a famous role.

  In China that's the equivalent of Zhao Lusi, Yang Mi, or Bai Lu winning a big award (almost impossible since China loves their middle aged actors) like the Magnolia, Flying Asparas, Golden Eagle because they had a trendy viral drama. It's nigh impossible for an ex-idol like Suzy to win a Best Actress for a webdrama that most people have not watched, they will rather award it to "serious actors" like Ma Yili, Zhang Yi, Reyizha based on their acting even if they are not that popular with the young fans or public.

  • That's why Chinese "award winning" actors/actresses (aka old drama bones) are so boring to watch. zZZZZ

    • They usually nominate the young actors at most and you need a few nominations to win unless you are startlingly good. I can't really dispute with the picks since the top 3 awards are mostly voted by actors and industry professionals themselves and they respect actors like Zhu Yilong, Qin Hao, Zhao Liying, Guan Xiaotong over idols new to acting.

      It's not like idol dramas won't go viral if Zhao Lusi or Wang Yibo doesn't win awards.

  • Anna was a drama many watched in South Korea.It was only exclusively released in SK during the airing time and many watched it.Many people subscribed Coupang Play just for Anna and the stock price of CP went up and the CEO specifically thanked Suzy’s drama Anna..It became one of the top 3 drama-related apps..BDA is a Korean award show and Suzy’s performance was widely acclaimed by many experts as well..So it’s no surprise she didn’t win.She even lost the Baeksang to SHK by just 1 vote~

  • Well,Anna was a really popular web drama in SK.It was exclusively released in SK during the airing time.It single handedly made CP popular and increased it’s stock price.The CEO himself thanked it.Many people subscribed to Coupang Play just for Anna…It became the top 3 then along with Netflix and TVing…And on top of that,Suzy’s performance was great and she deserves that..She was widely praised everywhere…

• About GHJ's gown, it's just that she is too old to wear it and she is at an event not playing a role in a Vincente Minnelli 's movie . This is the typical gone for a perfect young ladie in the '40's , 50's to go to the prom . Liz Taylor could have wear it in a Hollywood classic movie as " Father of the bride" with Spencer Tracy .

  • Exactly. I like the dress, it's pretty and cute AF, just not suited for someone in GHJ's age. I don't mean to sound ageist, it's just that it really would've suited a young ingenue actress better

• More than some dramas being not nominated, cause they have it this show for ORIGINAL streaming television/OTT dramas only, I am more appalled that they don't recognize the people behind the camera: Director, Writer, technical people...

• SHocking with their choice. Like Suzy ? I thought this award would be different anad appreciating great performances in a not popular drama.

  • Well there weren't exactly that many to choose from, given the limited criteria. Since PEB was not in the running, the next choices were SHK and Suzy to win. Because they qualified to be nominated.

    • They have jeon yeo bin and Kim Seo Hyun and I was glad they nominated them eventhough their drama is not that popular. I was watching their drama and they put great performances. Suzy put good performances but good acctress while she up against both of them? Popularity play a big part I guess.

  • Suzy is next to SHK even to Baeksang and if you consider popularity. If you consider popularity, Anna is geoblocked to international audience and it's only played in coupang play the lowest ott in SK.

  • Suzy was really great in Anna.Her acting was nuanced and charismatic.They might be overall good actors but I feel like Suzy’s performance in Anna was better than their performances in their respective dramas.She did really great for Anna..and she’s really become a serious actress..and will show herself more..as an actress..

• I’m so glad Suzy received it.She deserves everything for Anna.Her acting was truly excellent in that series.It was nuanced and so charismatic.I could think about so many scenes from the drama where I was just mesmerised by her acting.She’s truly improved so much from this drama and is only going to go forward.She’s growing as a true actress.Looking forward to Doona! and Wonderland.

• Park Ji Hoon character in Weak Class Hero was stunning... His eyes and acting brought life to his role. His award is a well deserved win.

• I didn't like the dramas that won. I'm sad that Recipe for Farewell didn't win anything, it was beautiful.
