I really appreciate the South Korean awards being willing to share the voting thought process and tabulations after the ceremony, it lends more legitimacy to the winners even if there is always bound to be behind-the-scenes elbowing at play. The Blue Dragon Series Awards held its 2nd annual ceremony this week and it fetes the online funded streaming dramas some of which may also get terrestrial screen time. Song Hye Kyo won the Daesang over her own drama The Glory with a 4-2 vote, the decision was that she WAS The Glory and without here there would be no drama. Ha Jung Woo won Best Actor over Choi Min Sik in a tight vote, while Suzy won Best Actress for Anna in a near unanimous vote with one mention going to Jeon Yeo Bin. And the biggest accolade is reserved for newcomer Park Ji Hoon for Weak Hero Class 1 who won Best New Actor in a full unanimous vote while Shin Ye Eun eked out Best New Actress with a 4-3 vote over Cha Joo Young.

I’m happy for Song Hye Kyo, she deserves her daesang at the prestigious Blue Dragon for streaming. The Glory is the best asian drama for the 1st half of the year.
Although I’m not a fan of her dress. I wish she could try out different silhouettes not just plain A-line skirts like the beautiful bodice and design of Shin Ye eun’s dress. SHK needs to find a new stylist.
Yes I'm happy for her too. But yeah, she needs to change things up a bit, styling-wise. Her hair is always styled that way, and her dress choices have been so plain lately. And why is she always wearing black, it's too harsh for her coloring 😭
I get that she probably has a simple style, but there's a way to dress simple while looking chic, stylish, and not boring. I know I sound like a hater right now, but I just find her so beautiful and I think her beauty is not being maximized. Imagine how much even more beautiful she can be with chinese celeb-level of glamorous styling 😭
I still don't get what's up with this awards show. Is it another one of those participation awards? Blue Dragon used to cover movies only, and now it spun off a *checks notes* streaming only TV awards show? Why not just combine the two ceremonies?

I think Koala made a typo there and she meant Jeon Yeo Been. Jeon Hye Bin is a different actress, best known for her 2nd FL role in Another Miss Oh.
Yeah it's like a spin off of the main Blue dragon awards. Not sure if I can take it seriously because why honor only streaming series? They can honor movies and ALL dramas like Baeksang. So given the limited choices, the ones who would've normally won were not even nominated, like PEB.
Quite silly, both Shin Ye Eun and Cha JooYoung are not even new actress. SYE don’t even deserve to win the category, she has been playing leads since forever her career. Why don’t they actually give it to new actresses and promote them? So laughable.

I just don't get this award? If she can win The Daesang award why does she not automatically win Best Actress? It's like saying you're not good enough to win best actress but you're THE BEST. Confusing to me. I personally think she deserves both trophies.
