I’m in an extra good mood with the satisfying ending to tvN fantasy drama See You in My 19th Life so the rest of the summer now feels like a good to have, So seeing Namgoong Min bringing his utmost sageuk intensity is just the cherry on top as I await the premiere of MBC drama My Dearest (Lovers) this August 2023. No one looks airbrushed and photoshopped and everything looks so life-and-death intense that period times would elicit. Not to mention My Dearest is set in the Joseon dynasty during the Qing invasion and we all know that the one unifying force in Korean history is the hatred of invaders and the banding together to preserve their sovereignty, culture, and livelihoods.
