The K-drama remakes of TW-dramas have had a poor track record with one of the biggest hits In Time With You becoming one of the biggest flops The Time We Were Not in Love. Coming soon on Netflix will be the K-remake of Someday or One Day now titled The Time Called You with Jeon Yeo Bin and Ahn Hyo Seob and I remain cautiously optimistic. I loved the preview and the poster above by itself but when netizens compared to the OG it definitely looks like an intentional carbon copy in not just remaking the story but the scenes, directing, and visuals. It could make viewers who have watched the original feel like it’s a lesser remake since so much looks the same so hopefully the full drama adds its own unique K-touches.

I was dissapointed too. I don't want to look like exactly the same.hopefully they don't follow exactly the same but has differe t touch.
The bigges doubt about this drama is the acting for me. I wonder if AHS will be able to give the same performance as the original actor.
The high school scenes were the worst and considering that 70% of the drama is supposed to be in school uniform its not looking good. The overuse of the filter is a reminder that this is definitely a kdrama.
Jeon Yeo Bin looks too old and Ahn Hyo Seop looks bloated. Remakes often dun do well and this one imo feels miscasted. If its down to just a translated scene by scene copy of the OG. Dun think i will be watching it. In fact I wasnt all that crazy about the taiwan version either. Side characters are dumb and some plotlines very draggy
Agree I dont know why some korean actors gets bloated face easily it makes them unappealing.
Its also the case for Lee Min Ho, Lee Jeong Suk, Park Hyung Shik, Jung Il Woo...
I think Phs never quite lost the weight he gained in military, he seemed to have lost his good looks since he returned. Lee minho and Lee Jeongsuk simply got bigger. Not just on the face weight gain but built up bulk as well. Ahs is still skinny but for some reason he seems very bloated in ATCY. Even his fantaken pics on filming site he seemed bloated. Too much drinking maybe? For the amount of pressure k-ent put on the fenale actresses to be skinny - seems like a double standard for the actors. Tsk tsk
Hyoseop is not skinny at all in Atcy for me based on the trailer. Looks at his biceps. He lost 7 kgs during dr romantic, and he looks really skinny in his last fan meeting and his cheeks is no longer look bloated.
He is admit though he is a heavy drinkers
I tried, but never really cared about the original. Maybe this one will win me over? At least I like the leads.
I liked the teaser! AHS looks dreamy, acting remains to be seen, and JYB looks good. The age comments are odd considering how much older Alice looks than Greg in the original. JYB at least aged down a bit here.
Remakes are kinda damned if you do copy, damned if you don't copy.
Hmm this just seems like a glossier version of the original. And AHS and JYB don't seem to have much chemistry either, when the whole crux of the story is the "transcendental" love the leads had for each other. What even was the need for this, they should've left well enough alone -_-
The original story wasnt my cup of tea but it was special because Alice Ke, Greg and Patrick were amazing, they act the hell out of their roles and it resonated with viewers. So its gonna take really good acting from the Korean crew to make this worth watching.
Hope it won’t disappoint. But I probably need to bring my expectations down for this one. The OG was way too good. & I feel like the Ahn Hyoseob’s Korean counterpart wouldn’t be able to surpass my love for Li Zi Wei lol. Greg Hsu is just too dreamy.
