Disney+ Superhero K-drama Moving Appears to be Doing Well with Netizen Buzz and Topping Good Data Drama List

So K-drama Moving may just be Disney+‘s biggest hit to date but with the news that the platform will stop investing in original K-dramas may be too little too late. Since the premiere last week I’ve seen more online chatter for this drama than expected and then to hear that it’s topped the Good Data drama buzz list this week is quite a feat. Disney+ released the first batch of episodes in one swoop and then the remainder will be released weekly, so it built up momentum and then hooked viewers to tune in every week, which only works when the drama is actually good as this one reportedly is. If anyone is watching please share thoughts!

  • Such a good drama with so awesome ensemble cast, but the definite highlight for me would have to be Lee Jeongha. His Bongseok is just makes me smile like no other, it is so hard to nail that type of encompassing quiet resilience with healthy vulnerability. He needs to get recognition and awards for being Kim Bongseok. He has had stand out small roles like in Run On and Nevertheless, but I always remember him as opposed to the other characters. small roles, and he fills them up big.
Additionally I am also quiet Go Yoongjung, she is definitely one of the rising stars to watch outh for, she is like a chameleon. her roles and image changes by each role.

The veteran actors/actresses in this drama are so interesting to watch. It would have been interesting to know how the production team were able to haul them in this drama. Also Han Hyojoo already playing 'mom' role, and for a teenage son at that. hahaha

    • GYJ is definitely the most beautiful actress of the mid to late 90s. She’s been charming since her debut in the Psychometric drama playing a teen mom. She has a subtle and quiet way of acting as opposed to loud and in your face. The strongest actresses of the current generation is GYJ, KSH and the girl from crash course in romance Roh Yonseo. Special mention to the second female lead from OBS as well. I think her name is Noh Jungui. They all the similar subtle and nuanced way of acting and I have displayed the most versatility even when playing similar characters. Especially since most of them have done mainly high school characters especially RYS. I think her entire filmography till now is just high school characters but each is so distinct. Moving is fun even though the first 7 episodes was mostly just set up but Huisoo and Bongseok are the heart of the drama. They outclass even the veterans with their pure and bright energy and straightforward personalities.

      • I like your choice of talented young actresses. Go Young Jung, Kim So Hyun, Roh Yeon Seo and Noh Jeong Yi are both visually stunning and extremely talented. There was a severe drought of 20 something actresses after the early 90s hit their 30s but suddenly there are many amazing actresses to watch out for. I know Kim So Hyun has been around for a while and has always been a strong actor but her new drama feels like a revival of Kim So Hyun and she's amazing in it. Her character is just too cool. Go Young Jung was badass in Sweet Home and Law School but it was her Jin Bu Yeon that won me over plus her chemistry with Lee Jae Wook was sizzling. Roh Yeon Seo is extremely charming and while she still has a long way to go to build up her career its obvious she is star material and will be leading her own dramas very soon. Noh Jeong Yi was a scene stealer both in 18 Again and Our Beloved Summer, another child actress but not nearly as famous for her past career I'm glad to see her landing her own drama on Netflix. She's going to nail it and finally get the global recognition she deserves. As of now these 4 feel like the only reliable actresses. The perfect combination of beauty and talent and very refreshing in their personalities and character choices. Always playing strong young women but focusing more on inner strength rather than showy over the top physical prowess.

    • I agree @mishna and @tashis! love all the young actresses you've mentioned, all absolutely beautiful, talented, and always play diverse, strong characters. if their managements play their cards right, these actresses can be the future of kdrama! so excited about their futures! and yes, i don't like actresses who overact too lol

  • I started watching this for HHJ, who always plays the role of mom so, so well. This is her third time playing a mother to a boy, but first time it being a teenage son. I was hesitant about whether or not she’d pull it off cuz she’s only 36… and her son here is a high school senior so.. lol but she really surprised me.

She hasn’t had a lot of screen time, but her acting in the beginning of episode 2 and end of episode 7 was so good, especially in ep 2. I’m a new mom so her scene there resonated with me so hard and I found myself crying even though it was such a short scene and she didn’t even say much. I hope she nabs some acting awards just based on that scene alone. Jo In Sung also selected that scene as the most memorable for him.

Anyway, it’s a bit slow in the first 7 episodes and kind of drags in episode 6, but picks up steam right away with the next episode. I’m more intrigued by the adults’ storylines, but didn’t mind watching the kids at all. Their scenes are almost like youth drama and then the stark swerve into those violent fight scenes involving the antagonist was a little jarring lol.

Hoping the rest of the show is just as good and hype continues to grow cuz it definitely deserves it! Disney+’s first big hit in kdrama for sure.

  • I’m also really liking this show! I started watching because I was bored and a little bit curious but it got me hooked after a few episodes. It has a vibe that’s different from the usual kdrama fanfare, there’s a nostalgic western feeling to it that reminds me of Heroes back in the days with a bit of Kill Bill vibes. I love that it feels different and yet manages to have an emotional core that the viewers can connect with. The story so interesting and the characters are great too, can’t wait to see more! Also have to say that I think it was a smart move to release a bunch of episodes at once to capture interest because first episode left me feeling a bit unsure about it so being able to continue watching really helped!

  • I’m familiar w/ the comic and I’m satisfy w/ the drama adaptAtion. Although the little change in KBS’s following HS all the time is quite obsessive & the kids romance is more emphasis here, but it adds to the tension and justified the danger coming. So Ep1-7 are all the kids (one would think the pArents are supporting) but it will shift to the adults soon. This drama is really an ensemble cast where everyone had their back story and I loved that aspect. It’s unique & refreshing & I hope this drama become successful so that Asian has more variety.

  • I am enjoying this series as well. Good direction and writing, not boring or loopy. Can't wait for the next episodes.

  • Bongseok was so adorable! I really like his character and the actor did well.

For the rest, I had issues with the way to tell the story after 7 episodes we barely know anything, the parents don't talk to their kids, it's very frustrating.

  • All actors are awesome in acting and visually. Perfect roles and chemistry with best plot . Everyone shud watch it on repeat as it’s very good. I have bcum fan of ryu seung as a versatile actor with new gen also seems dedicated actors
