Zhang Wan Yi and Ren Min Pair Up for Tencent Period Romance Drama The Rise of Ning

This won’t be the first of the summer 2023 various C-drama leads that play musical chairs and do an upcoming drama together. There were more C-dramas released this summer than usual and two of the bigger hits were Lost You Forever and The Longest Promise. So LYF male lead Zhang Wan Yi and TLP female lead Ren Min will star in upcoming period drama The Rise of Ning together with wrapped filming over the summer and recently released the first poster and official BTS look at production. I would say Ning would not be getting the type of attention it’s getting now if not for Zhang Wan Yi probably having his biggest role to date in LYF and that’s great but he’s got to showcase his incredible acting more than just his also incredibly intense crazy eyes haha if he he wants to fully cement himself in the top male lead stratosphere. As for Ren Min, all the visual criticism of her in TLP hasn’t affected her casting offers and at least the styling here works much better for her looks.
