So those who watched the weirdo makjang time-travel drama Lady Durian will get the same whiplash feel for the set up of this upcoming MBC drama The Story of Widow Park’s Marriage Contract. The drama stars Lee Se Young as a Joseon newlywed wife whose husband Bae In Hyuk dies on their marriage night and she gets tossed in a well only to wake up in present day Seoul and finds her husband in his modern incarnation and they get a second chance in contract marriage. The two leads look solid together and hopefully this set up is done in a more coherent way in this drama than in Lady Durian, with that said the first teaser is just mid.

I have been waiting for Lee Se Young's drama, hope it will be a blast likse Red Sleeve
SEYOUNG COMEBACK!! (choosing to forget that the law cafe exists)
Really hope this goes well for her🤞
I know she's not doing bad or anything, but I'll always be sad that her career didn't take off the same way Junho did after The Red Sleeves, despite being excellent in her role. I kind of blame the writer for this, they put all the focus on Junho's character and gave him all the epic moments. What's ironic is that Red Sleeves was supposed to be about the story of court ladies or something like that, and of course, in the end, it has to be about the male lead again. Sigh...
Just to be clear, I love Junho as well, and he very much deserves all the accolades because he's a very talented actor (didn't even know he started as an idol!), but I just wish he and Se Young enjoyed equal acclaim for their performances 🙁
I know what you mean. It's a shame she doesn't seem to have reaped as many benefits as the male lead even though she was as important for the success of the drama :(
I have had a soft spot for her since I first saw her in A Korean Odyssey. She was great in the Red Sleeve, but I was not a fan of her last drama with Lee Seunggi. I hope she got a better script this time.
