Production Team of Dilraba Dilmurat’s Next Fantasy Revenge Period Life Hopping C-drama Reportedly Now Considering One Male Lead to Play Different Cheating Men

So the casting of C-drama Wan Zha Chao Huang (English title of the source manhua is Cheating Men Must Die) is for sure Dilraba Dilmurat as the female lead and with the story being that she time and life hops around into different situations where she is the soul inside the female lead and enacts revenge on the cheating man in that life. The original concept is to cast 8-10 different male actors as the various male lead with no OTP as all the men are cheating assholes and the satisfaction is seeing them get their comeuppance. Now the latest insider rumor is that the production is now considering casting one male actor to play each of the various cheating men, so it will mirror Dilraba’s role. The reason for this change is cost as it will be cheaper to pay for one male lead rather than 8-10 actors. Let’s wait and see how this plays out.

    • I finished The Flame's Daughter, not a good drama! I don't mind her but for some reason, I can't finish her dramas either, I make it through 30 eps then just couldn't go on! I hope they have different male leads, having just 1 with 8 stories will be tiring to watch.

    • strangely the only drama i could finish watching with her as fl was "you are my glory".People say she fits historical dramas better, but I find her cringe there

    • The only drama I loved was The Long Ballad with Wu Lei (Leo Wu). Even without the romance stuff (which was a bit lame), it was good like Nirvana in Fire (my benchmark). I especially liked episode 15, I thought she was a woody actor like Yang Yang but she was good there.

  • Why would any leading man want to play cheating as* anyway even if it’s pairing w/ her? I could see potential leading man wanting to stretch their acting in this role though.

  • What a pity, I actually like the concept of having a different “guest” male lead for every arc. It could help to inject freshness into the story whereas a single ML could risk the arcs becoming repetitive, especially with how long cdramas can get. The one thing cdramas need to improve if they were to use the multiple arcs structure is the transition from episode to episode - it’s so jarring that they often just end the episode mid scene with no reason. Kdramas definitely plan their episodes way more professionally.

    • I think it's hard with cdramas because of censorship. You can edit the thing and have the perfect transition and then when the censors review the drama, they would demand that this and that scene be hacked off. There was a drama where I'm pretty sure half the scenes of the drama were hacked off because of some dumb scandal with the male lead.

  • Next thing you know, they will decide that the cheating man is not really cheating, but perceived as cheating while at the same time doing charity work and taking care of stray animals.

    • LOL! That's my suspicion as well, especially if they're floating names that you usually associate with cdrama male leads. This thing will be a shadow of itself once it airs.

  • I read the manhua this drama supposed to be adapted and I feel conflicted since the protagonist is super good at everything. In the context of the webtoon, it's refreshing and nice because it's meta against meta. People who read countless of webcomic and webnovel loves the payback/karma story after we are tired of white lotus protagonist and half asses revenge.

On the other hand, I am skeptical about this turn into drama. It will be better to have it into seasonal drama when different male lead each season since if one arc gets solved in 4-5 episode, the world building doesn't seems sufficient and the protagonist end up becoming the "super lucky protagonist" that the manhua didn't intend to have.

This manhua has a diverse setting, from cultivation, modern to Otome game and the protagonist needs to have chemistry to many of the male lead. I just don't know if this can work with one season since every male lead is technically the male lead in each world, therefore there is no one true male lead and the violence may get turn down which is a shame
