jTBC just premiered Strong Girl Nam Soon last weekend, the follow up drama to the 2017 Strong Girl Bong Soon both centered around a family of very very very physically strong women who all look super feminine. The OG leads Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Sik are making cameo appearances in Nam Soon and from the stills just released it’s probably this weekend’s new episodes. I’ve heard positive feedback on Nam Soon about the leads which is a good thing since this story takes one conceit and milks it so I was worried there wasn’t enough material for another go-around.
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…
Well this is an interesting pairing, setting aside the age difference at least I can…
I swear I just wrote about Song Joong Ki having his first baby and then…
At the end of the day, the core of any good drama remains the Story,…
If I didn't know this drama was a romance set in space and done K-drama…
If Wang Xing Yue ever needs extra money he can be a professional dubber for…

Ugh I loved this couple! Ahn Minhyuk is the least toxic rich chaebol boyfriend/husband ever.
I had so much fun watching SGBS. This pair is one of my favorite K CPs. But their subsequent dramas did not seem to be as popular as SGBS. I watched Hyun Sik's Our Blooming Youth this year and liked his acting there but the drama was just ok. I didn't find any interesting dramas of Bo Young after SGBS. They were so charming in SGBS. I hope they both have more interesting projects coming.
I’ve heard very mixed reviews of the current Strong Girl so I’m holding off watching that. Plus as much as I loved and still love SWDBS, I can admit it was mainly for the OTP and their undeniable chemistry. The writing was not it and the works of the writer after, not a fan either.
I will however tune in just to watch the OG couple’s cameo. I just love our Minmin.
Is K-ent running out of original ideas that they have to do spin offs and sequels? I’m a fan of leaving original works as stand-alones and not revising them. The new spin-offs or sequels will always be compared to the old drama to their detriment. The two Parks had the best chemistry with each other, which makes me wonder why the two of them haven’t starred in another romcom with a great script.
I haven’t really enjoyed their work post SWDBS with the exception of Happiness. I hope Bo Young can have a hot drama again. All her other post SWDBD dramas haven’t been up to par.
While many spin-offs and sequels might not on par with the original dramas, there're some in the filming industry (not talking about the K-ent only) that continued to have explosive popularity and a cult following even for decades. Examples: Star Trek, Star War, and The Lord of the Rings etc., to just name a few big names.
In the case of K dramas, I'm currently addicted to Arthdal Chronicles II. I did not watch AC I and had zero knowledge of the plot. But AC II is so well written and all the cast are great without wasteful acting that not only have I had no trouble following the storyline, but also like it a lot. The lengthy exotic of Greek mythology-ish naming doesn't bother me at all to remember who's who even I have to read subtitles at the same time. LOL. For me, AC II is a successful sequel so far. And I plan to pick up AC I after finishing the sequel even there're some negative reviews about AC I out there.
One of my favorite drama couple . Their chemistry was electric . As Ji Chang Wook and Nam Ji Hyun, Yoon Eun Hye and Kang Ji Hwan, Kim Sun Ah and Cha seung Won, Sul In Ah and Kim Min Gyu, Park Se Jung and Kim Jung Hyun,...But i watched the 2 episodes of the sequel but i see it more as a diferent work . With no connection with SWDBS . And the leads don't have the same chemistry !
It's more like a DC comics drama as Wonder woman, Supergirl,...but they don't try to hide their identity ! SWDBS had the serial killer story and the super cute and wonderfull couple .
