Zhang Ling He Reportedly Signs Interest Commitment as Male Lead Opposite Dilraba Dilmurat in Upcoming Female Centric Life Skipping Revenge Drama

So I expect this drama to have tons of male actor names associated with it but this one makes sense. C-ent insiders are saying Zhang Ling He and his side has signed an interest commitment as the male lead opposite Dilraba Dilmurat in her upcoming fantasy life jumping revenge drama Wan Zha Chao Huang. It will apparently have one main male lead and the other 7 male leads are part of short arcs but the production is going ahead with casting all different actors rather than the alternative of one actor playing multiple roles. I think Zhang Ling He’s agency continues to do wonders with his career and honestly if he doesn’t further breakout it’s on him.

  • Well, if it's true, I say it is a bad move. Reba is beautiful but very mediocre acting-wise, and I can already predict the chemistry will be meh.

  • Of course he will be in the list of guys...he is the most commonly seen newbie these days. His is under a very good management company..

  • Wow! His agency are really good. They are getting him some huge opportunities and he is everywhere.

Is this modern or a costume drama? His recent dramas are costume but I think he would benefit from a modern drama as ML. He is a very, very handsome man but something about his features isn't quite harmonious in costume dramas. I don't know if it was the styling or because he has lost a lot of weight but I really noticed it in his recent "My Journey to You"drama

    • I think it's mostly costume. The main weakness in his visuals is that he can't smile widely. Somehow plenty of wrinkles pop out whenever he does that despite his young age.

I notice that many recent young actors have issues with their smiles. They look handsome when they are not smiling or giving slight smile, but turn ugly the moment they beam.

      • I haven't noticed wrinkles but I think it might be his overbite that is more noticeable in costume. I think his handsome looks are more suited to modern outfits and hair because he still looked fab in the promotional events for MJTY. Then again, I noticed Esther Yu also looked not so great in certain scenes of MJTY so maybe the drama styling is to blame.

      • @Faria Begum Yeah he's one of them.

@Sunny Agreed, he looks very good in modern styling. His height and physique are great plus points.

      • You are so right about the smiles....in fact, I feel there is a lacking of artiste who do not do proper facial training...they need to really train their facial muscles to get it flexible and achieve different expression easily. Too many are so conservative... No need to be Stephen Chow or Jim Carrey but at least understand a actor actor is not just looks...It is about communication with eyes and face too. They need to practise by looking at mirror learning different expression till they have flexibilty and control. This is the selfie generation, it is just about the Zoolander 'blue steel look'. That habit really hinder their ability.
Your observation is very sound on this issue, I took a couple of day thinking about it loosely...Lol

  • I don’t know…sometimes less is more…Chinese celebs has this issue with overexposure. The flame doesn’t last long with that. Take a break, take some acting classes, get new experiences and return.

    • Allen Ren was in the same boat when all the dramas he filmed were stuck in limbo for years and then suddenly one year, he got about five of his dramas aired almost back to back. He is still marketable today despite the 'over exposure'. ZLH is right to strike when the iron is hot. C-ent is quite changeable, no one knows if the right opportunities will be there years from now, there's no guarantee.

And there's no guarantee that the drama will even air after it has been filmed, like so many others which are permanently on the shelf for myriad reasons. So he should find his own path, trust his management and his own judgement.

  • Still wondering how his character is going to play cheater scums eight lifetimes and then still be the main love at the end. To be a cheater in a marriage, they must depict him interacting salaciously with other women and sleeping with them. Too many lifetimes of that, with the revenge factor, and the viewer might get tired.

    • From what I've seen of the cartoon, there was this 1 mysterious male character who helped the FL in the past when the mission in the story world arc she was in was difficult to complete. He ended up being punished by the system or his body/soul "broken up" in order to save her. The secondary male lead in each new story she enters reminds her of him or contains fragments of his soul. The scumbag cheater is always a different male.

      • It's definitely an interesting concept, but not sure how they're going to implement the different males cheating on her in each story without it being too repetitive. We'll see :). You know they're going to change that script because they must make it more romance-friendly.

  • Yikes, what a terrible choice.

He is overexposed, these days constantly criticized for his mediocre acting and he chooses Reba who can't act either. Lol it's going to be fun reading Douban when netizens let loose.

    • Three dramas released after a drought of dramas does not equate to being overexposed. Somehow, when a phrase is repeated often enough by a group of people, it becomes a truth. But I’m questioning that truth: what dramas make him overexposed? What I see here is that this blog tends to feature a lot of ZLH’s articles. Doesn’t mean he has more featured work than other actors in his scenario.

      • He has only been around the scene for some time and he already has a lot of dramas released or about to be. What does the term overexposed mean to you? 2 dramas per year should be the max per actor/actress, after that it is too much!
