I am admittedly a more vested viewer of Sweet Home, the original Netflix adaptation of the webtoon which I read and loved so much. It was dark, raw, and tense and pretty mature so not for youngsters to read. But the webtoon ended with the ending of the drama so when it announced there were two more seasons of the drama on Netflix I was wary because how to continue what felt like a nicely concluded story. Alas the approach seems to be bigger, badder, scarier, whatever that was good about SH it’s been amplified as seen in the first poster and teaser for Sweet Home 2 that solely concentrates on male lead Song Kang and decides to give him a literal blood bath. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
Sweet Home 2:
This year 2024 has been a slow year for K-actress Suzy in terms of her…
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…
Well this is an interesting pairing, setting aside the age difference at least I can…
I swear I just wrote about Song Joong Ki having his first baby and then…
At the end of the day, the core of any good drama remains the Story,…
If I didn't know this drama was a romance set in space and done K-drama…

This is where I always lose interest in stories, when the scale becomes bigger and human corruption and in-fighting involves a larger community of people that idgaf about. I do hope they manage to do it well here.
I hope they don't make it too gory (American Style) and instead focus on heart, which is what makes Korean productions excel. Wonder what the focus will be in this sequel. Sweet Home hit all the right notes because there was plenty of 'heart' in the story. So we understood the goriness of the plot. American productions tend to sacrifice telling a good story in the effort of making things bigger, badder and scarier and I don't care for their inclusion of that aspect in Korean productions that Netflix produces.
My boy got buffed up for this season! So sexy!
