Method acting is one of the regularly lauded performance commitments for actors and actresses and it’s understandable when one goes to a physical transformation for a role. But I don’t understand why Park Min Young went full cancer patient in her upcoming tvN K-drama Marry My Husband, because it’s just not needed. This is not an Oscar prestige film like The Machinist, this is a K-drama and she was already very very skinny in real life she could just use makeup and angles to do this role. Instead she lost weight to an anemic 74lbs (37kg) and it’s really uncomfortable to look at onscreen. Her character is dying of cancer and married to a loser husband when she finds him cheating with her best friend and during the confrontation he KILLS HER and she wakes up alive and ten years earlier for a chance to change her own fate.

She should have shaved her head, go all-out!
I am looking forward to Lee Yi-kyung in an antagonist role, but I wonder if this would be any different from the currently airing Perfect Marriage Revenge.
Yeah, she was already skinny in that last drama she did. If it's a K-drama; losing weight to 74lbs just for those cancer scenes and I'm now wondering how many minutes or hrs were needed for her to lose weight. It's also a do-over chance so will she be healthy and meaty later?...
My patients come in with electrolyte imbalance including low potassium. They even go on cardiac monitoring at her BMI. Much less Kdrama grueling acting
schedule.
Are you sure it's just method acting? A lot of real life people are unwell or have low energy levels at that BMI.
Her weight is closer to 81 but still, it's just dangerous.
I know it's horrible to speculate, but I do wonder if she had already lost too much weight due to mental health issues and they're trying to cover it up. She looks like she weighs less each year.
Seems a dangerous thing to do this sort of method acting when her character will go back in time to being her younger, healthier self. And this is all for a production helmed by a writer and director who do not appear to be big names in the industry. I wouldn't do it unless it's for a Bong Joon-ho film.
Looks like the last dating stress really caused her to loss lots of weight. It suit this character she is taking on...
She has already been underweight before this.
The hat to cover the full head of hair is really obvious.
at least cannula insertion is correct...bravo
Hopefully she will gain weight again when she shoots her not yet sick character scenes cos it will look like the wind can blow her over looking like that.
FL dying and waking up rewriting her story is overused in Cdramas this year. The plot also reminds me of Perfect marriage revenge chemistry between the leads make up for the makjangness and makes it cracktastic.
73lbs? That sounds very unhealthy for her age and height...will she be gaining back come weight in the story after she travels back in time? Losing was not needed, especially if she won't play a cancer patient for a duration of the drama.
Are we sure? Honestly, she doesn't look much skinnier than her usual skinny self, also I expect the cancer scences to last 1-2 episodes tops.
I dont understand the need to loose weight if she's meant to go back in time to her old healthy self. What's the point?
