Perhaps it’s so many stars passing in recent years, I feel like since COVID-19 started it has been a nonstop barrage of passing celebs in HK and Asian entertainment. Or maybe it’s the normal amount but just seems like a lot to take in with life harder than usual. 2023 will hopefully end with the unexpected passing of HK-actress Kathy Chow in mid December. She was found deceased in her luxury condo and the suspected cause of death is complications from long term lupus. Those who watched TVB and Taiwanese dramas in the late 80’s to early 90’s will absolutely known and love Kathy. She was an A-list leading lady for probably a 5-7 year stretch, most famously in Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre. She has a short lived marriage to actor Ray Lui and famously dated Leon Lai as well, but the past 20 years she has lived in Beijing single with her beloved dogs and acting occasionally. Those who watch current C-dramas will recognize her as the evil Empress and mother of the male lead in Ashes of Love. Kathy was still active in entertainment and last month in November she just shot a new pictorial which was released today posthumously. Thank you Kathy for the great drama memories.

Thank you for such a beautiful a tribute. The photos looks amazing. But from the photos I can see she has loss weight and looks tired. I am still grieving over her sudden death. May She rest in Peace.
I watched a lot of Hong Kong dramas in 90s before watching k dramas after 2010. She’s one of my favorite actress and it is absolutely hard to believe she’s not around anymore. I haven’t watched her version of heavenly sword or the remake one she did. I watched her 2009 tvb cop drama. Life is so unexpected. Never thought she will leave us at a young age
