Modern Romance C-drama As Beautiful as You with Tan Song Yun and Xu Kai Releases New Poster and MV of the Ending Theme

• Xu Kai again! I miss Tan song Yun but Xu Kai have been on screen too often.

• XU Kai is so lucky; his drama airs one right after another. However, I have never interested in watching any of his dramas.

  • Xu Kai's acting does not touch me at all...thus I cannot finish most of his dramas...

• Other than yanxi palace years ago, I have never been able to finish any of his dramas, like Legends, Court Lady, once upon a time in liangjing mountain, lost in kunlun mountains,
  Ancient Love Poetry and Wonderland of love. Ooh so many! Some I have only watched an episode or 2 and didn't feel the need to continue.

  I do find him handsome though but that doesn't make me finish any of his dramas. I might check this one out when it finishes airing.

  • @Shi and @HL same...I usually power through his dramas for the FLs, but he himself is not a big enough draw for me to watch.

    Even the current drama with Esther whom I adore, is looking less exciting because of him. If they paired her again with ZLH or another ML, I'm totally game.

    • I heard fantastic things about his last drama with Jing Tian, but I tried and can't push thru the first 20 minutes. I like Jing Tian, though, so dunno why I couldn't power thru.

• Their height difference is so cute!

  Xu Kai is normally good looking but he looks extra handsome here.

• He needs a hit soon otherwise he’s a certified ratings bomb. Hopefully she’ll be his lucky star. Her dramas have been doing well and she’s so cute.

  I say this as his fan. Sigh.

• She is absolutely terrible at romance so in combination with him who is so wooden it won't look good. She is a good actress but has no chemistry with anyone and she has acted with people who click with all their partners.

  I wish she would pick dramas without romance because otherwise she is quite good.

  • I think she has amazing chemistry in Under the Power with Ren Jialun and With You 2016 with Liu Haoran. The show UTP basically become a hit only based on the leads chemistry alone. The drama was low budget, and cgi was shitty, but both leads were able to win best male and female actor in costume drama at huading award. There are reasons why people still root for UTP and With You 2016 couple every year on weibo even years after the drama aired. Because the drama has amazing chemistry.

    Tan Songyun's dramas after UTP has little romance and slowburn, so there is not much to say, but her acting is still impressive. Road Home is her most romance drama, but tbh, on weibo JingBao is considered as someone who has little chemistry with all his co-stars based on his past movies and dramas, and he was literally in public relationship with his girlfriend when they were shooting Road Home. His dating pictures was trending on weibo cause he was sighted with his model gf during Road Home filming. Both leads did what they could do in the drama, and they presented great acting. Tan Songyun was doing her best matching their chemistry.

• I do like this pairing, but I just don't know if I want to invest my time in it since I'm not a fan of modern Cdramas.

• This is looking good. Tan Song Yun is one of very few C actresses who I consider having acting caliber on par with decent K actresses. I didn't finish all her dramas thanks to boring plots but she's always on point. I've never been a fan of Xu Kai, not even now. I couldn't get his looks or acting even in his breakout drama as a supporting ML in Yanxi Palace until Wonderland of Love. He changed my perception on him and continues to change my perception in CP6. He's not like some other recently rising flower boys whose dramas always cause a buzz regardless of low quality or low ratings. I think XK is on a steadily positive track of his career path. I hope he's got opportunities for non-idol drama to challenge his acting range.

• I don't get the hype about height difference being cute.
  The poster is terribly uninspiring, she is staring at his nostrils.

  • Me neither, but many, many Chinese netizens love it, gush about it. I'm short myself and I remember slow dancing with a tall guy was a pain in the neck. LOL. And holding hands with him felt like I was his little kid being led around by Daddy. LOLOLOL.

• Hopefully a good story...because the couple, I don't ship. They looks the same - same round face and eyes. And so much height difference is annoying.

  • They don't match at all. It'd be like Song Kang with Han Ji Min.
