So this drama has been in the works for over a year and originally the leads were supposed to be Zhang Wan Yi and Tian Xi Wei. But with C-casting, it’s not over till its over and in recent weeks it’s pretty clear that drama will be Yang Yang’s next big project as male lead. The drama is titled In the Moonlight (or Thousand Miles of Bright Moonlight) based on the same name novel and is an arranged marriage enemies of warring kingdoms to lovers story. The female lead will be fast rising newcomer Bao Shang En who debuted in 2022 and has the high profile role of Huang Rong in the New Jinyong Universe drama coming up. The confirmations should be out soon as the drama is slated to kick off production shortly.

I watched this girl in supporting role in Fake It Till You Make It. She made quite an impression to me and gives off Seo YeJi vibes from IONTBO. I'm not surprised at her rising so fast. I think she will make a splash with the JinYong drama.
She was good in that drama. Yang Yang is my issue. He's good-looking but so boring to watch.
That's the whole reason I even know Bao Shang En...I love Fake It Till You Make It! One of the best modern cdramas i've watched in the last year or so! So mundane and relatable yet the relationships were sweet and believable. The male and female leads have great chemistry, too! Highly recommend it!

She's super young but looks good in modern dramas. Should be interesting to see how she and Yang Yang are together. I always think Yang Yang needs a more experienced/famous actress to challenge him.
Nah, getting a more experienced actress as his co-star means he'll be second billed, which will hurt his ego.
No way, Yang Yang will look so bad with someone experienced and good. His lack of skills are not ready to be challenged as yet.

Fake It till You Make It is a boring as heck drama. I don't have any recollection of Bao Shang En at all. The only two C actresses of her generation who have ever impressed me are Zhang Jingyi in Lighter & Princess and Liu Hao Cun in Derailment (which I did not finish). Both these two actresses are beautiful and visually very recognizable on screen with natural but nuanced acting. BSE? Sorry don't remember at all.
I'll check Yang Yang's costume or idol dramas. He could have chemistry with his leading ladies like Reba in You Are My Glory. There are always opportunities for actors to come back from flops as long as they keep getting projects. Although YY's acting range is pretty limited so far, he may come across one drama for him to get over the plateau. Acting can be improved through feasible efforts. It's not like visuals that can't be fixed without getting under knives. LOL. I hope he's aware of his big assets without solely relying on that to continue his career path.
