Bai Jing Ting Gets Flack for Upstaging and Dominating the Joint Performance with Wei Da Xun and Wei Chen at the CCTV Lunar New Year Celebration

• If you watched the rehearsal, Wei Da Xuan sang on the same position. So Bai Jing Ting just following instructions. However he did change his clothes from white to black.

  • The broadcast company,cctv already release statement that,everything that happen in chunwan is as reherse.nothing happen without their permission.

    • February 13th CCTV hashtag "every move in Spring Festival Gala is carefully designed and accurately presented"

    • The gala performance compilation video that the CCTV weibo account had posted with this hashtag did not include this BJT, WDX and WC's performance though.

• Not sure how many rehearsals took place, or which videos of the rehearsal was the final, but in one of the rehearsal video floating around, Bai jingting did move down to the 2nd step to his right and Wei Da Xuan moved to the top step when singing his part.

  Maybe they changed so many times, that he got confused or forgot?

• I think its such a big issue because people dug up shady things about his past - like backstabbing the crew of Who's the Murderer, He Jiong, Qiao Xin; managing 8 cps at once etc. Imo he looks like an uglier version of Cheng Yi / Li Hongyi, though his acting skills are decent.

• There are multiple rehearsal versions out there showing different positions, however the ones seemingly released by BJT's side showing the same position as the broadcast were all rehearsed with replacement singers, WDX and WC weren't there. So the question now is which version is the actual finalised version. C-netz think that it doesn't make sense for the 3 guys to keep standing like Do-Re-Mi while each of them sings because the song title is literally called "Going up the Spring Mountain". The stand in the performance signifies the mountain and each guy should sing while standing at the peak of the mountain. They think that the position should have been like this 00111 -> 10101 -> 11100 where the 10101 will form the Chinese character for mountain 山.

  • Yeah I think he messed up the intended choreography. He looked zoned out after his verse. Since Wei Da Xuan wore black pants and stood in the middle a bunch, I felt like the black outfit didn't stick out that much. Wei Chun had all white with black shoes. Wei Da Xuan had half white and half black. BJT had all black with white shoes. It is the sort of mixing that you would see in idol outfits. BJT's original white outfit looked better and was flashier and he should have stuck with it.

    • I do feel that the black colour was too much though, it would look more coordinating if either his top or pants was white or same colour as WC's jacket.

  • I am just surprised this 3 guys's program created so much news online... Overshadowed all others. Such a shame.

    • Well, it occurred during CNY which happens to be the period of the year where people have the most free time, no work and everyone gathered together for gossip.

• I did see the rehearse version of BJT stepping down for WDX and WDX stepping down for WC, however in that rehearse version both "BJT and WDX" do not completely get off the higher platform while WC is singing. It looks like they both knew to walk down the higher platform together to stand on the regular stage. And, when did these rehearsal vids get released? Before or after the scandal?

  • After the scandal. But apparently all these rehearsal videos are not supposed to be released to the public, i heard this whole incident will affect the production crew's performance report/work resume or something like that, feel so sorry for them.

    • Yeah, looks like someone is trying to sabotage something since those rehearse vids just so happen leaked after the scandal. Btw, I opened up bilibili app today and there's so many vid memes of this performance like it's insane but so funny.

• Seems he offended someone. No one is so stupid to do this during Spring Festival.. plus there's a whole production crew, how does he just change into black clothes without anyone noticing... They wouldn't have even let him go on stage.

  I read his clothing uses toxic chemicals and I'm curious if that's true. A bit weird that Bai Lu and Song Yi are willing to wear these if that's the case.

• The amount of scandals that comes from C-ent is f*cking unbelievable! How can this even be a scandal? Poor Bai Jingting. Objectively, it is easy to forget your place if changes are constantly being made to a routine. As for wearing red when everyone else wore black, or wearing black when everyone wore white, is there some cultural significance to these colors? It isn’t a big deal to me a Westerner, but might be a big deal to the Chinese? Maybe he didn’t get the memo??

  It’s amazing to me that there’s anyone left in C-ent when celebrities scandals keep erupting for the smallest infractions. In K-ent they would most likely have blamed his coordi or stylist. But in C-ent it’s “he’s trying to upstage the leads, let’s dig into past scandals to prove he’s an a**hole.” Who knows? He might be this year’s cancellation victim! They have to at least oust two celebrities each year to keep the others in check. Lol

Even he did not follow what he was instructed to do in the rehearsals, this is really no big deal to cause such a big fuss. So frivolous and futile!! LOL. But C netizens are always like this, arguing and fighting and bickering about trivial things, mostly about entertainment cos that's what their authoritative government prefer ppl to squander time on and therefore, divert attention from serious discussions about civil and social affairs. SMH.
