So we likely won’t see this C-drama until 2025 but I’m hopeful the ample post-production time will deliver a stellar visual product, on top of hoping the script and directing is good. The Legend of Jewelry finished its 5 month shoot this week and the cast led by leads Zhao Lu Si and Liu Yu Ning celebrated with a wrap party. Zhao Lu Si with her slim built and cute visuals makes the difficult to pull off Tang dynasty outfit look good and Liu Yu Ning always looks good to me in period dramas lol with his height and build. This will be their second go-around after The Long Ballad which coincidentally was also Tang dynasty drama and their onscreen pairing was very well received back then so this reunion already has some built in good will.

Since last year these fandoms are fighting all over the internet.
The fanwars I've witnessed since last year on Twitter/X are so entertaining.
AJTL 2.0 in the making. The FL’s fans will accuse LYN of changing the script and stealing the scenes of the FL, ML2 and ML3 and justifying that with a “leaked script”. And making the ship with ML2 the cp supertopic with the most “heat” on weibo. The marketing of that has already started with ZLS and TXT’s height difference trending on weibo’s hotsearch just a few days ago. All the chess pieces for the narrative have been set. LYN should just get the damn picture that nobody wants him to be an actor and will never stop ruining his rep and embarrassing him as an actor so he should quit and just stay a singer before he loses that too.The only irony is that ZLS was the one who recommended LYN to play her ML after 8 months of all those liuliangs rejecting the role. LYN of course lapped it all up since he otherwise wouldn’t get s+ drama ML offers. This was supposed to be win-win for them. Too bad ZLS’s fans were against the 2nd collab and started boycotting the moment he was rumored as the ML when there was no noise the whole 8 months she couldn’t get an ML. And her fans continue imitating LSS’s fans and calling him a rat and wanting to kill him with rat poison on weibo, douban and bilibili. They take it up a notch and mock him for being an old man and divorcee. LYN fans have taken offense so this means the fans will never work together. The only supportive ones are the measly amount of shippers left from TLB. Can’t wait for more drama when it airs. I will be seated with my popcorn

How am I the hater when I’m just stating facts? If anything, ZLS fans seem like the haters of this drama with their behavior. They made everything ugly from the beginning with their boycott of the drama and they continue to mock LYN, the ML ZLS finally settled with, after not being able to get an ML for 8 months. ZLS should have changed the ML the moment her fans started the boycott. ZLS being the one recommending him for the role and continue insisting he play her ML is like slapping her own fans in the face. What was she even thinking? Oh wells this won’t affect her much other than the cp with LYN not having much support. Not really a problem for her coz the cp with TXT, the ML2 will have all the hype. Like I said AJTL 2.0. Her fans will also claim that he changed the script and steal the spotlight and screentime of her and the other 2 MLs. Just a leaf out of LSS fans’ book. Only LYN will end up looking bad and embarrassed. Hopefully that’ll convince him to stop insisting being an actor and just freakin quit already

The thing is, it often happens in C-Ent where they take female-centric IPs and change them to cater to the ML’s casting especially if he’s a liuliang. I get the business aspect of it. Both sides must benefit but it’s a valid concern for the fans of the IP and the main actress.
I’m not saying it happened in AJTL or TLOJ... I’m just saying it’s happening in their industry which is why there are concerns.
It’s sad to have witnessed the AJTL fiasco, LSS and LYN fans fighting from billings, poster placements, yin yang script allegations etc. Good thing the drama did well.
ZLS fans were already expressing their piled up frustrations over the production and her company months before LYN got on board. But yxh/melon accounts and antis only pick up and blow what they want, when they want.
Things died down few days after the announcement but after his live, yxh feasted on them and the fans got riled up again. Some people in their fandoms may not be chummy with each other but ultimately it looks LYN and ZLS maintained a good relationship over the years. LYN expressed before he wanted to work with ZLS again. On the other hand, ZLS recommended him work.
A lot of fans are still level-headed, tolerant, and supportive. I truly hope this drama becomes big, out of their fandom circle big, and drown out unnecessary noise.

Because he is from the bottom of society and there he shall remain. Coming from a poor and incomplete family and trying to gain money and popularity through live streaming on the internet. “Internet celebs” are considered lowly and cheap by people in China. I don't have issues with LYN looks or his acting, he is decent enough that I can enjoy his shows if the plot is good. As much as I like ZLS, I'm so unimpressed by LYN. His smarmy image from A Journey to Love is still vivid in my head and makes me cringe. LOL. This is another drama that has one of my favorable actors and the other unfavorable in the pairing. Nonetheless, LYN isn't dislikeable to the point that deserves a slot in my unwatchable list. Only good script and directing would matter if I'll watch this drama or not. May check it though.
Oh, I’ll always check out the dramas first, especially a Zhao LuSi’s. I don’t think I’ve ever dropped any of her historicals except her debut, the one she played the Bad Guy, which I got bored with and dropped after her character died.

It's not a big deal and I don't think his image is "swarmy" in AJTL. That's a strong word. Simply say you don't jive with him or his acting. I dropped AJTL but it had nothing to do with him, more because I couldn't jive with the FL's acting nor her portrayal of her role.
What's all this negativity about Liu Yuning? The dude is handsome and hardworking. Is it because he had humble beginnings that led him to becoming a singer, and then later branch into acting? Is that why people look down on him and call him names? The guy has a beautiful voice and is very talented musically, he should be admired for his skills and for working his way from the bottom to where he is now and not looked down upon. Ugh! Some of these comments make me so angry. I'm not a particular fan of his, but maybe I will be going forward because all this injustice makes me root for him even more.

It's when he started getting pushed by capital into acting and getting more screen time based on that capital, not his skills that are at best mid, is when the pushback started.
He will disappear eventually, back into music, like all capital puppets and then things will settle down because everyone admits he can sing. It's his very debatable "acting" and behavior about it that caused issues.
@Mercy and Xoxo, I have no idea of LYN's beginning of showbiz career, be it humble or noble LOL, or whatnot other than his performance in dramas. I don't care either. I only commented based upon my personal assessment of his acting in AJtL. I have no interest in his activities outside acting. Therefore, my assessment has nothing to do with anything other than acting alone.
His image in AJtL started all positive and his character was actually very favorable that should be easy for him to please me as a viewer. But the excessive love lines between him and Liu Shi Shi turned me off instead. His smarmy and over-flattering mannerism undermined the impact of romance that could have been mesmerizing. That's how limited he is as a ML, lacking a cool aura and charisma IMO.
