This is an older bullying scandal at least in terms of the lightning speed of K-ent news cycles. In June of 2022 K-actor Nam Joo Hyuk was alleged to have bullied a high school classmate who claimed he was targeted for fight club type shenanigans and Nam Joo Hyuk was part of it. The timing couldn’t have been worse for Nam Joo Hyuk who was coming off a career breakthrough leveling up drama performance in hit series Twenty Five, Twenty One. His agency denied the allegations and vowed to take legal action. Even without being proven or disproven it absolutely poured cold water on his momentum and after that he did the web series Vigilante before enlisting for military service. This week a court in Seoul has ruled in favor of Nam Joo Hyuk who sued the accuser and also a reporter of defamation, the court found that there was no credible evidence of the bullying allegations hence by going public the defendants defamed Nam Joo Hyuk. The accuser is vowing to appeal, claiming now that he never said he was bullied by Nam Joo Hyuk, he said he was bullied by friends of Nam Joo Hyuk and it was the reporter who named Nam Joo Hyuk to get views. The accuser claims to appeal because he does not agree with the court finding that the bullying did not happen. Nam Joo Hyuk is around 2/3rds of the way through serving his military enlistment.

I am tempted to ask if some reporters even have a conscience, to decide to destroy someone is beyond evil. After the reporter named nam, why didn't the accuser come out and clarify for crying out loud. By keeping quiet with the distorted truth he was an accomplice to me. They both should be made to pay huge sums, like why do that to a human being that is working hard and just trying to do something with his life.
The guy A is not completely innocent even though he didn't say that Njh was the one doing the bullying,but reporters,A,B all need to be punished in my opinion
The accuser was probably bought out by the reporter thinking of gaining more money from NJH. Now the story changes after the accuser lost… what a joke 😂😂

they chose the worst possible time to do this too, as koala said. he was being called nation's first love after twenty-five, twenty-one (also nation's ex-boyfriend LOL) and had so much goodwill built into his image. now this will follow him like a shadow for a while. such a damn shame. i trust his judgment in picking scripts, and i hope he picks a good one for his comeback so he can get up to where he was.
Journalism used to be a very respectable profession. That should include reporters for performing art also. Apparently entertainment reporters have downgraded themselves to gossip dumps. Real bullies aren't brought to justice while innocent ppl got defamed? LOL. This how almighty those crappy reporters are !!!

It was so much worse before, just in those days, no one talks about it. School cover-up the cases. We know more now only due to more raised awareness and more victims speaking out...and of course there are those stupid bullies who load their acts on video to look Tough. They want to be 짱 (jjang) in school.
The accuser needs to make up his mind. Was he bullied by nkh or nkh friends? Very different meaning. He can appeal and he will lose of that's his allegation. I'm glad nkh didn't apologise and fight this in court. I'm impressed.
He want to appeal to say he was bullied. The court states there is no evidence he was bullied. But he never said Nam Joo Hyuk bullied him. He only said it was his friends that did that. So Nam Joo Hyuk should not be involved in this case.
This case is filed by NJH towards the accuser for DEFAMATION, So i found the verdict appropriate.
What was the intention of the accuser to say he was bullied by NJH's friends in the first place? He could have just said the name of those who bully him without mentioning NJH's name if NJH was not involved. His action did cause the defamation towards NJH, so i hope the reporter & him will need to pay big amount of fine, so this can be a lesson learnt to them & everyone to not take such thing lightly.
I applaud NJH & agency for taking legal action, and we are able to hear the verdict, instead of having them settling it out of court, which proves that he is really not involved.
There are two ppl here A the one who got bullied, and B his friend who made the first post to speakup for his friend but put some distorted details to get more attention or maybe even selling the story to reporters, so A said he got bullied by NKH friends and mention NKH as a witness, B is the one who accuses NKH
That what I understand of the story
I feel like this is one story that never quite took off despite it being big enough to. And now that it’s cleared it wasn’t even NJH to begin with, that’s even better. What his friend may or may not have done has nothing to do with him. He wasn’t a participant and now that his name is clear, it shouldn’t be an issue for his career. Looking forward to his return!
he once said Bae Suzy smelled like skatefish. I don’t think a nice guy would say things like that to their co-star, especially on camera. Therefore i believe he might not be the a big bad bully, but he’s not a nice guy.
