Liu Shi Shi to Sign On for Republic Era Thriller C-drama The Gift of Magic
This casting and drama was first rumored towards the end of last year in December 2023 and now is back on the front burner getting ready to confirm and start filming. The C-drama is called The Gift of Magic (Chinese title 极盗者 Ji Dao Zhe) and is a republic era setting with mystery, thriller, and of course magic. The female lead is reportedly soon to confirm Liu Shi Shi who has been attached since the first rumors, and the male lead may or may not still be Bai Ke. This isn’t an idol romance or xianxia and will be another genre change for Liu Shi Shi who by all accounts is fully back in the drivers seat of her career after taking a few years off to have a baby.

I like it when an artist change up their role once in a while, but man...I'm not a republic era girl LOL.
Republic dramas are such snore fests... it's simply propaganda... with tacky costumes and predictable storyline. LSS is probably doing it because every famous star needs to to gain some credit from the ccp.
