• Oath of love was good to a certain point, but then both ML and FL became pathetic and annoying characters.

• Oath of Love still holds the highest ratings on Hunan. Not even Legend of Shen Li had higher ratings. TOOL also aired during a very unfortunate time because of that horrible airplane accident so there were gaps.

  It was a success. A big one.

  People just don't like to admit that.

• In Indonesia Oath of Love is Big Hit... We love this drama its warm story about family...i am hooked by their realistic emotion in some scene .Both lead so cute and lovely ..no one can satisfiying everyone taste.come on koala ..

  • Really? I rarely saw people talking about it when it was aired. I mean, comparing to Hidden Love, OoL is far from big hit. It was doing okay, but not as popular as other dramas. OoL was popular with certain fandoms but not a larger audience. Hidden love, love o2o, love like the galaxy, some examples of what we call big hits. Even kdrama lovers, or other drama lovers talking about it.

    Yangzi's works that are very popular in Indonesia (in my opinion) are Go Go Squid, Ashes of love and lost you forever. I personally like Best Choice but unfortunately it wasnt that popular when it was aired.

• I'm a new XZ fan and I stalk every videos he has on YT. I encountered many XZ and YZ cute interactions behind the camera. They have a good chemistry. I'm going to watch TOOL Better late than never. ☺️ Too bad it's not on Netflix.

• I love XZ (not a devoted fan) but I did not like Oath of Love. I disliked the female lead character a lot. Even Yang Zi couldn't make Lin Zhixiao likeable for me, and I typically find her portrayal of character endearing. I also found the second couple really cringey.

  • Same about OoL. It was my first drama of XZ and became his fan but not that rabid LOL until the Untamed I watched later. As for YZ, I watched OoL for her cos I liked her a lot in Ashes of Love. But I did not like her character in OoL that I found annoying sometimes. That being said, they had strong chemistry.

• I know why Oath of Love didn't make a dent, but I won't say it. Heh. I hope these two have good projects in the queue.

• I enjoyed most of TOOL. I feel that Yang Zi, aside from Ashes of Love, haven’t done romantic tension well. There were moments in TOOL that made me gushy about the CP, but then it would dissipate, as if the romance never carried to the next scene. I find this happening in all her romantic scenes with her MLS. EXCEPT in Ashes of Love, 😆, where hee scenes with both MLs had the pull and pull of a romantic struggle.

• Pairing with younger liuliang actors aren’t doing Yang Zi any favors. She ends up looking like their aunt or something. So awkward.

  What she should do is pair with handsome older gentlemen like Hu Ge. Would help people take her more seriously as a legit actress and not an idol actress too

  • Do you think Yang Zi would be willing to accept second billing to Hu Ge? Or do you think Hu Ge is able to accept equal or second billing with Yang Zi? So that will never happen. At least her latest costar is Li Xian, who is her age. She just needs to avoid working with 00-ers like FCC.

    • Why would Yang Zi be unwilling to be billed 2nd after Hu Ge? It’s not embarrassing to be billed after a seasoned actor who is much more respected than her.

      I can understand not wanting to be billed 2nd after liuliangs like Xiao Zhan.

      But THE Hu Ge? She could never be 1st billed or even equal to him in the 1st place. She not being at his level isn’t even up for debate so I don’t see this as a problem?

  • Do you think she has a say on who would be casted for the role?? In the case of LYF she was the first person to be casted before others, same for her other dramas.

    And I don't know why ppl say that 30 yr old women can't act in idol dramas ??? It's just being ageist.

    And fyi ppl take her as a legit actress

• Happy for both of them. Hope we see more of Xiao Zhan this year. I miss him on my screen.
