It’s been awhile since I’ve seen K-dramas release ancillary merch, that used to be so de rigueur during the era of probably 2008-2014, with super popular with the young fans drama producing DVD sets plus extra commentary, official OST CDs and maybe even fan concerts, and script books with annotations. NGL, I have some oldies but goodies in my closet from that era lol, ah to be young and totally enamored of a drama again. This Mon-Tues will be the finale episodes of tvN drama Lovely Runner and fans are mega excited and I’m loving this online energy. The production has also announced the released of an OST set and a script set for fans to purchase.

Emmm... they often do it. I saw ost set and script set for many dramas in last years.
the finale showing at the cgv theatre is going to be legendary. it gives me confidence that there will be a happy ending, coz ain't no way they'd be doing this otherwise.
I would imagine it'd be dangerous for them to deal with an angry mob of 1,000! I also have faith it is a happy ending!
Epic epic chemistry between leads. They need to do more projects together in the future and not let it go waste. Dark revenge romance or whale star adaptation or a melo sageuk like Princess man.
tvn marketed the drama awkwardly.. this is a epic melo time slip romance and not necessarily a high school idol drama.
it truly feels like an incredibly special kind of chemistry that matches the epic scope of the story. and what is this whale star i keep hearing people talk about? is it a manhwa? is the story particularly suited to what these two have to offer?
It is a Japanese occupation era webtoon which explores love for one's country vs personal love .. loosely based on little mermaid story. A beautiful tragic romance. Manhwa also has great artwork.
KHY will be perfect for the role and even resembles the webtoon protagonist imo.
OST is amazing. Brings back OG drama feels for sure. 2008- 2013 were my peak kdrama years too!!
The OST has been my playlist on repeat since I started watching it! It keeps me sane Wed-Sun 😂
@Han hahaha I'm obsessed with those edits of Kim Hye Yoon and Byun Woo Seok's previous/ sageuk dramas that some clever kfans used to make a 4 minute remake of Goong, the chemistry is that good!!
they would have been so perfect for those roles....five years ago, maybe KHY really has that lovely and adorable vibe that Yoon Eun Hye had in the original, and BWS has a similar vibe to young Joo Ji Hoon, the original is rightfully legendary. But remakes of kdramas never go well and I would not blame either KHY or BWS if they wanted to wait a few years before a reunion, to avoid typecasting.
Finally! The story was becoming boring. I'm happy they're adult now! No more travelling I hope!
Yup loved it till ep 10 and stopped watching for awhile. Was becoming repetitive n boring with a lot of fanservice n filler scenes. Glad that something so unexpected became so successful tho, curious to see what projects the leads will take on next as it'll probably make or break their position in their industry, especially bws.

why would she? she got project with BWS and that project actually got him to land THE Sunjae role for this project.
Cos BWS partnership with KHY is a success. Also, BWS was not the first choice. So, his stint in 20th Century is not the reason why he was casted in Lovely Runner
@mikarla they didn't find an actor who wanted to play this role. The PD offered it to BWS when he saw him in 20th.
Kim Yoo-Jung and Kim Hye-Yoon have both good career, they don't need to be jealous.
I'm so obsessed with this drama, it almost makes me sad lol. I can totally understand why so many people love it. Something about it just feels perfect. (That doesn't apply to the subs I'm watching it with but you didn't hear that from me 👀)

They’ve been discussing leads for the remake for a few years now. Byeon Woo Seok looks very similar to young Ju Ji Hoon. He even has the same acting vibes and height so he would do great as prince. But as much as I love Kim Hye Yoon, I just can’t see her as FL in Goong remake. If it ever happens to begin with.
I still love this drama, I'm just hoping for weddings and babies and more kissing haha
