So there is a female lead and a plot synopsis for Namgoong Min and his next project a melo romance drama for tvN. It’s titled Our Movie and the female lead will be Jeon Yeo Bin, a movie actress who got a big burst into mainstream with Vincenzo but her next two dramas Glitch and A Time Called You didn’t create additional momentum for her. Our Movie has Namgoong Min as a formerly successful movie director currently in a slump directing a movie about an actress nearing the end of her days and finds a real life actress in the same predicament to star in it. I know announcing a terminal illness as part of the synopsis immediately cuts off a certain audience pool but I’m remain open to watching but hesitant as to how much inevitable it will get me hooked on the story only to break my heart at the end.
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…
Well this is an interesting pairing, setting aside the age difference at least I can…
I swear I just wrote about Song Joong Ki having his first baby and then…
At the end of the day, the core of any good drama remains the Story,…
If I didn't know this drama was a romance set in space and done K-drama…
If Wang Xing Yue ever needs extra money he can be a professional dubber for…

She is one of the best actresses in Korea. Love her.
i like both of them. i will keep an eye out for news on this project although i'm not a big fan of melo romance.
The plot is almost giving early 2000s kdrama vibe. Let’s see how the execution will be but melodrama is not a genre one classifies as trendy. These two would gel better in a romcom because JYB was best in Vincenzo in the comedic moments. Same with NGM he’s good with comedy and his best performance was Chief Kim. This should have been a comedy instead but melodrama is…sigh.
Ditto on everything you said here. So unfortunate that we are getting this pairing in a tragic romance instead of comedy. At least I hope it goes about it in a light hearted way similar to Scent of a woman.
This is promising casting. JYB has done much better in movies (snagged that Blue Dragon award last year). Her last two drama choices left me scratching my head. Glitch was kinda out there, and ATCY was just a terrible decision all around. She should've dropped out as soon as she got paired up with AHS.
The script and costar for this one looks promising. She has sooooo much potential and just needs to execute properly.
I liked glitch haha. But damn this girl is getting typecast she loves tragedy. Still, a good pairing though.
Very promising pairing but a bit icky about the plot. I dont like watching tragedy.
Btw, I havent watched anything from Nam Gong Min. I want to try, any suggestion? What’s his best drama? Thanks.
I’m in no way following NGM closely nor am I a fan, so I don’t know which is his best drama. However, I have so far watched his Doctor Prisoner, One-Dollar Lawyer, half of My Dearest and a couple less memorable ones. I would highly recommend One-Dollar Lawyer. The drama has heart and he and Lee Chung Ah were both excellent in it. I cried a bucket towards the end of the drama.
I’ve also heard glowing reviews for his Chief Kim and Hot Stove League. So maybe you can check these out too.
For me, Hot Stove League is the best of NGM I have watched so far. I personally like HSL better than well received Chief Kim. I'm currently watching One Dollar Lawyer but the FL of this drama isn't that great IMO. Hot Stove league has a great cast including FL, Park Eun Bin. I never expected a sport drama could be this good.
I love dramas with sad ending as well as with happy end, so count me in.
Not a fan of Namgoong Min's acting, but their pairing and synopsis made me looking forward to that drama.
This is phenomenal casting. Looking forward to this drama!
Unlike a lot of fans, while NGM is good at comedy too, I don't think that's his best acting chop. NGM was amazing in broody, serious, or dark roles like those in Hot Stove League, My Dearest, and A Girl Who Sees Smells. Personally, I appreciate Hot Stove League way more than Chief Kim and One Dollar Lawyer. So, I'm really looking forward to this melo although that's currently one of the genres I like least among all. I strongly root for the acting to make the watching experience satisfying. I hope the script is really inspiring with depth and the directing will be artistic enough to not waste great acting from the main leads. Otherwise, melo isn't really up my alley.
Do you also watch TW or JPN dramas?
Nope, not really. I used to but not anymore. Why? Good recommendations?
No, I actually wanted to ask you for recommendations because I ended up loving the K-dramas you suggested 😅
Haha. Great you like those dramas. I don't know more about K dramas than many other long-term visitors of this site. I was lucky to take those recommendations from them and watch pretty good dramas too. I'm still hoping them to give me some more recommendations. LOL.
melo is really up my alley, when done right, it's good ... SO looking forward to their acting chops. The director is promising.
