So being the middle chapter of a three part trilogy is like being the middle child, burdened by the accomplishments or lack thereof from the eldest and still has a younger sibling that can deliver if you don’t. Fox Spirit Matchmaker series launched with the highly anticipated Red Moon Pact with Yang Mi and Gong Jun which flopped hard and the production was reportedly going to delay the next two chapters. But with so many C-dramas airing it now feels like six months is enough time to dim the memory of the first so Love in Pavilion with Liu Shi Shi and Zhang Yun Long is now looking for a December 2024 release.

This one looks the most promising out of all three chapters. I feel like Liu Shi Shi picks better story than Yang Mi
The trilogy were produced by Stellar, right? CMIIW, but I noticed that after Cang Lan Jue, all Stellar's xianxia are flopped or average. They produced beautiful dramas with pretty people, wardrobes and settings but horrible script, directing and execution. Some actors are only pretty faces with zero expressions.
same production company as Cang Lan Jue, but directors and screenwriters are all different.

This trilogy really needs to sit down and figure out how to tell a story. Also, they have such a huge cast, it makes it hard for the audience to warm up to the characters. But I do have higher hopes for this chapter and visually, the green palette just looks better.
The problem is that everything is pre produced. Can they change anything? Anyways they would probably just leave it up to fate
I'd rather it come out this year than nxt year. A Liu Shi Shi drama to look forward to in 2024 and not get delayed like part 1.
