Tang Yan’s Fan Club Announces it Will Not Promote or Cover Her Upcoming Period C-drama A Moment But Forever as It’s Not in Up to the Level of Her Current Status

Well this is not the smartest move if you ask me, but again C-actress Tang Yan‘s fandom hasn’t been known to be the savviest. Her long ago filmed period C-drama A Moment But Forever with Liu Xue Yi is reportedly airing soon, this summer so likely next month in August or early September. Her fandom announced this week that it will not be promoting or doing searches for this drama and will instead focus on her other activities. The reason behind-the-scenes is that this drama’s male lead Liu Xue Yi leveled up with In Blossom recently and Tang Yan’s fans don’t want to do work that will end up benefitting him if the drama does well. Her fandom also thinks this drama was filmed years ago when she was still clamoring for work and now this project is beneath her after she got a major career breakthrough with Blossoms Shanghai. Her fandom wants this project to air quickly and be done with because they don’t think it will do much for her career at this stage.

  • Whatever...I am wondering if this fan clubs have encouragement from Tang Yan's team to do so? Her team is not great so far... Anyway, it is their choice.

  • What a joke, not like she did or have any big drama lineup for her or something so I dont know what levelup they are talking ab, behavior like this will take away chances of her getting more scripts.

  • I will never understand c-ent and their fans. If I’m a fan no matter what I would promote my artists works and focus on positive still this is just so weird imo

    • I don't understand their fandom behavior either. They can be so controlling sometimes and act like they are the managers of their favorite celebrity, as if they "own" them or something.

  • Okay, drama queen much. lol. For this action alone, I hope this drama goes on to be a run away hit and he become certified leading man just to get back at those bullies.

    • @li

LXY is a leading man and he is a good actor - he is also very handsome. He is a much better actor than TY. These are terrible fans. Who needs fans like them. Everyone started somewhere and so, it’s the same for her. Best wishes to him and the drama.

      • He is gorgeous and a great actor.

My friend saw him as the villain in Destined and has been devoted ever since: she’ll be thrilled by the news he’s got another show coming.

      • @Maya

Same for me. I first saw him as the villain in Love and Redemption and while everyone else was screaming over the most boring male lead who was throwing up blood left and right, I was head over heels for the villain played by LXY. Even with bad roles, his acting makes it seem that there is more depth to the character.

    • How are the bullies, wth. Stop using heavy words like bullying and diluting their meaning.

The platform will promote this drama. This is their job. It's not the job of her fans.

He has his own fans, let them do the work for him. It's not her fans job to promote him.

      • Get it through your thick head. Are you one of her awful fans too? By releasing unnecessary statement, they purposely belittled an actor who's is much a better actor then their bias. At the same time belittle a production SHE chose, because she needed a job. Now that they think she is too good, they gonna drag others down. They r not even her true fans anyways. If u not gonna promo, it’s fine… but don’t do anything that will reflect horrible for the actress.

      • @Lee

He is a total nobody compared to her. Nobody knows who he is in China. Nobody.

Her fans aren't dragging anyone down if they aren't promoting this. Platform and his fans can promote it. They aren't stopping anyone. They certainly aren't bullying anyone. And they are not obligated to do so, they aren't employees.

Plus, if he is such an amazing star, he can carry his own dramas. But oh no, she has to promote him and carry him? Well tough luck, she isn't anybody's tow truck. If he is so great, he can do it on his own.

      • @Lmao

Are you always this mean? How would you feel if someone calls you a no body? Perhaps she is more popular than him and so what? He is a better actor than her. I don’t dislike her - I just think she is an ok actress only. There will always be people who appreciate him as an actor - whatever name/level of popularity he made for himself. I’m also sure he doesn’t expect/need her fans to promote it for him.

      • @XZF

Truth hurts. I am not mean, I am blunt. You know who is mean? Posters above calling this "bullying". Bullying is a serious, heinous thing. Her fans aren't bullying him (wth even) because they won't do active promotion. Accusing them of such is the height of idiocy. There will be plenty of promotion for this drama done by appropriate people whose job this is and it is not the job of her fans to do so.

If you all want to accuse them of bullying and boast how he is a star and a leading man and she is a nobody then you get to eat the truth.

You can think whatever you like about their acting. He is an absolute nobody in China. Nobody knows who he is. She has name recognition. It is her name audience recognises.

Now if you are all so in love with this according to you amazing actor at the Shakespearen level then do your own damn promotion for him. Stop accusing people who aren't interested to do so of bullying. It's not anyone's job but his to promote himself and no, he doesn't get to ride her coattails and no, her fans don't have to promote him.

Promote your own pretty boys and stop crying victim if other people aren't interested in doing so.

      • @Nah

This comment from you (7/22/2024 @ 10:25 am time) confirmed to me that you have mental/anger issue. I don't talk to people with that problem. Don't bother to reply to me because I won't read it. Thanks.

  • Why do the Chinese fandom have so much power and do actors depend on them rather than the general public for a drama to be a hit? So weird.

I’ve genuinely never seen this happen in Korea. Never had a fandom boycotted their favourite actor/ actress drama for some inane and childish reason. They instead go out and defend as if their lives depend on it. The difference is so stark it’s fascinating.

    • Yep it's so different, and these fans can go even lower if they want to. Some of these fans are quite rich, that they can create hot search just to discredit their fav's opponent. The artist don't even spend money and it's done lol. How loyal, and controlling

    • Because chinese actors mostly can't act for the sake of it ahhaha
So they need to rely on fans number to get views
Good actor would just speak with their works

      • There aren't good projects for them to work on. That's the major problem: bad scripts and bad directing. Even good actors could have laughable works, e.g. Imperfect Victim starring Zhou Xun, to just name one. LOL.

      • @ somebody, I think u r the one of those people who really understand how the industry works . Even a good actor with poor script and directing will look mediocre in acting the as a good scripts and directing can make a mediocre actor shine. Every stage in a TV production matters not just acting. Beside c ent seem to value veteran getting more meating production than the others , where I feel if they all have equal chance of roles , we would see much more good acting and project all around.

  • There is nothing wrong with their attitude. They aren't obligated to promote this drama, they aren't even boycotting it.

The platform will promote as they see fit. It's their job, not the job of her fans.

    • Actually it the fans job to promote their bais artist work more than the platform, even though they do their part eventually. U would be surprised what a good word of month can do to a project to boost it up, it helps it to be popular, sleeper hit or not end up being a flop, when all is said n done.

      • @Mercy

        Lol no.

It is absolutely not their job to promote. They can and often do but in no way is that their job. It's absolutely crazy that you think this is somehow their responsibility. They are fans, they aren't employed by her. And it is even less their job to promote another artist.

It is the job of relevant platforms and producers (and TVs if it is being aired there).

    • Agreed, fans aren't obliged to promote a drama just because their bias is in it. I'm shocked there are people who think otherwise. Would you berate kpop fans for refusing to buy their bias' new album due to various reasons like unhappiness with the bias' agencies?

  • You need to check your facts because 2023 is not "years ago". This is literally filmed last year. The fans might seem mean but they are right than a xianxia would do nothing for Tang Yan at this point because she's already 40. But eh its dumb because a good project would still be beneficial to an artist.

  • Of course, the fans have no obligation to promote at all. The issue is that they call themselves her official true fans and then goes all out and release a statement to not only degraded her choice of work, but the leading man, and the production values as if they seen the project already. If you value her at all, you should just shut up and not do anything. Obviously, we seen low budget project being hits too, no one can predict until it's released. So to make this public statement is embarrassing and if you agree w/ their action, you are also the problems. Birds of the same flacks together.

  • She is a actress with over 10yrs experience being lead star...she pick this job. It is her responsibility to do her best for this job. I would think it is a insult to her say this drama is beneath her current status after Shanghai blossom. Every drama she picks up contribute to her resume and growth. It silly to ignore those early project just because it is "not good enough".

I sincerely hope Tang Yan Team do not have such mindset as if they do, they are just not helping her career. As long as Tan Yan agrees to do a job, it is her job to do it well within her abilities. Dont undermine the drama and insult thee whole acting cast, working crew just to lift your artiste to a higher platform. It is such a ugly situation to be in. I have no respect for such behaviour.

True, it is not the job of her fans to promote the drama but please don't denounced it before airing. It is just slapping the faces of all those involved in the drama, working day and night to produce this piece before it is even aired. Only after airing, viewers have right to express their views. Such behaviours is not just petty, it is disgusting.

    • Fans usually have insider info on the drama quality if they decide to make such things public. Yang Zi's fans have also done it before with My Mowgli Boy and Immortal Samsara.

      • I see...That reminds me of the hamburgers comparison that Zhao Liying made about Princess Agent. The artiste have little control over final editing.. Is that what it is?
