Zhang Jing Yi and Wang Hong Yi in Talks for Romance C-drama
A new modern romance C-drama is in the works and is adapted from the novel Jing Luo Zai Wu Jia Ren (京洛再无佳人). The drama is in talks for Zhang Jing Yi and Wang Hong Yi as the leads and I’m good with this casting. Zhang Jing Yi is continuing her top billed female lead status but paired with rising level male lead stars, first with Hu Yi Tian in Blossoms in Adversity and now Wang Hong Yi. This casting may still fall through but within C-ent there remains a bigger than K-ent volume of projects always in the works.

Except for Xiao Zhan, she continues to pair with pedestrian actors. Sigh! I hope the plot is as solid as Blossoms in Adversity though. BiA is one of very few C dramas I got to finish. I gave a shot to BiA after the Double and I liked it. It was easy watch, no stress for any suspension that makes you sit on the edge of your chair. Nonetheless, the script is well designed and balanced to have good stories and character development on all key supporting characters, not just the OTP.
I started BIA but the male lead is so wooden that I dropped it. Does his acting get better as the story goes?
He doesn't get any better, but the focus of the drama isn't that heavy on the romance. I feel like it's more about the family. Not a masterpiece but decent background noise.
@Guest, he's one of the most expressionless actor I've ever watched in the West and in Asia. The answer is NOPE. He stayed the same till the last ep. LOL. But he is cool in fighting scenes. Also unlike many C nets whining about his visuals, I think he's handsome.

@Soph, yup! Romance isn't the focus. The story made you feel good about a slice of utopia female life that is not realistic in the antient setting at all. LOL. Girl power reigns! LOL.
Wang Hong Yi, he is one of the four guys who got popular on back of Love You Forever thus he received a few good support roles. I dont know him well as I only just started eps 2 of Love You Forever season 1.
Hopefully not because he isn't a top visual and at best mediocre actor.

This guy needs major acting lessons. I cannot feel any of his emotions in LYF. He's decent looking but doesn't have great screen presence either.
