Rising C-actor Chang Hua Sen Annoyingly Reprising His One-Sided Love of the Female Lead Role from A Journey to Love in New Drama Are You the One

There are way worse rookie rides than Chang Hua Sen in last year’s wuxia C-drama A Journey to Love, he had the visuals in terms of height and looks and his acting was earnest in that trying too hard way. The problem was his character as the lovelorn younger disciple with the one-sided love towards his master who was the female lead was SO FUCKING ANNOYING. Sorry but sorry, watching his scenes only worked as hate watching so I guess there is that. He’s being cast as one of those next male leads in the making so he has multiple dramas as supporting male leads now and in coming months. I was hoping his next role would be a better character so it has been a total whiplash to see him in recently premiered period drama Are You the One literally playing the exact same asshat character – he’s in love with the older woman female lead from the sidelines and just stares at her from a distance or pines for her in solo scenes. I don’t know who his agent is but this person needs to be fired because he’s not such a bad actor but having him play his douchey characters is making it hard for me to appreciate his talent and rather I spend the entire time wanting to reach into the screen and punch him in the face.

  • Omgah, he’s IN this one?? Lol. Fast forwarding through the first ep was soooo dry, I tried a couple more, and 🥱🥱🥱. Dang, he’s one of those actors whose faces change super with the kind of hairstyle he wears. Ok, I actually didn’t pay enough attention through the fast forwarding to catch him in this drama. 😅 I wish I liked the leading lady even just a tiny bit, but she’s a meh for me. He actually seems pretty sweet and charming in interviews, so I hope he gets a suitable role sometime in the future.

  • 🤣🤣🤣His character really was SO annoying in AJTL with his obsession. They dragged it on for too long in the plot. Just wanted to shake him and tell him to grow up, get a grip and get over it

  • Chang Hua Sen is not even good looking or good at acting.

He looks basic as heck to me and did not impress me in AJTL at all.

I guess everyone is handsome when compared to fugly uncle Liu Yu Ning lol.

He needs to thank the voice actor for making his role in AJTL a little better.

He’s also lucky Liu Shi Shi and her fans were hell bent on embarrassing Liu Yu Ning and making him look bad, so in addition to the smear campaign with various negative hot searches daily, they also made the cp supertopic with Chang Hua Sen’s character a hot trend.

But look at it right now, the moment they stop financing these paid accounts and bots and LSS fans move on to her next drama, there goes the hot trending cp supertopic lol.

And iQiyi was also eager to promote him since he was from their reality show.

This drama however doesn’t have an FL who wants to sabotage the ML and isn’t from iQiyi so he ain’t gon get the attention like AJTL.

  • I like the show so far. But yes, each time this poor guy is on the screen, I get strong Li Tongguang vibes and feel like throwing the remote at him. They didn't even style him well in this one, at least in A Journey to love he was eye candy. I do hope his next role will be a better one - or that his current role will evolve into something better.

  • He is an average actor and visually there are so many handsome boys these days he does not stand out to get a better role, he can only take whatever role the producer can give him.

  • I was thinking while watching the drama 'who is this dude cos he looks so damn familiar' then I googled and realised he is Li Tong Guang...

Then I wanna punch him in my TV screen too lol

    • LOL....cos visuals are pretty lacking...specifically for costume dramas?

Reading the 2nd ML's stares at the FL from a distance annoying Koala, it occurred to me how I got cringed cos LYN was so smarmy towards LSS in AJTL and I was creeped out by ZWY's excessively seductive approaches to the FL in I Know I Love You. LOL. The acting (perhaps as needed by the characters???? I doubt it LOL) of these two MLs compared with CHS' characters that fans bitched about turns me off equally if not more. The only much difference is the other two have ML halos but CHS' obsessions were doomed to be unrequited. LOL.

      • I think 🤔 I might have seen him taking on a bad guy role and he did so well...my dislike for him turned from role to real person .. I can be ver shallow...😂

  • When I saw him on screen and the one sided love line, I was like dude is playing the same character as AJTL, just less craze craze.
So far the show is a very good watch, no idol drama cliques. Both Zhang Wan Yi and Wang Chu Ran are decent in the show. No useless or annoying characters.

  • Oooff, he's not a bad actor for a rookie since he can play so damn well of an annoying and possessive written character who has a one sided love. Agree that he needs to pick up better roles to enhance his future ML status.
