So it’s unfair that marriage issues for star couples play out in the public realm but then again the stars themselves make it public and capitalize on it when it suits them. Married acting couple Chen Xiao and Michelle Chen are going on ten years of marriage but their relationship has been pooh-poohed from the very beginning with her being older than him, the cultural and political divide between her Taiwan and his Mainland China, and their meeting on the worst adaptation of Return of the Condor Heroes kinda ruining the story for fans. But the two persevered and have a little son together, splitting time between China and Taiwan during the marriage. Alas rumors of discord flared up from time to time but the most serious gossip has been this June when all the insiders started to say that the marriage was over in every way except filing. Reportedly Chen Xiao moved out AND changed his cell phone so the only way for Michelle to contact him is through his personal assistant or agency manager. She’s the one trying to hold on to the marriage and reconcile but last week she was spotted at a concert in China where she was visibly not wearing her wedding ring. That’s a big sign since she’s never been spotted without it in public. This is disheartening to hear yet another marriage failing but best wishes for the two to coparent well and move on to happier days ahead.
This year 2024 has been a slow year for K-actress Suzy in terms of her…
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…
Well this is an interesting pairing, setting aside the age difference at least I can…
I swear I just wrote about Song Joong Ki having his first baby and then…
At the end of the day, the core of any good drama remains the Story,…
If I didn't know this drama was a romance set in space and done K-drama…

I am sorry but how do you know their marriage has failed?
You literally don't know. What is disheartening is constantly writing about a dissolution of a marriage, where there is a small child involved, and you actually don't know anything about it.
Until both sides come out to confirm, can we just let this rest? It’s so unfortunate that this family has become fodder for filling articles on any slow news day. It’s quite cruel to have their home life invaded like this particularly since neither party did anything wrong - they just happened to fall in love and marry to the disappointment of their fans who would rather pair them up with someone else. Best to give them their privacy to work out their issues by themselves. As the public we don’t have to ‘help’ their breakup, if it is even true, by constantly commenting on it.
How is wearing no ring a sign of marriage failure? My grandparents didn't wear any rings, neither do my parents. That's American culture, not for traditional Asians. WE DON'T EITHER after my diamond ring was almost washed off down the kitchen drain cos my finger got too slim for the ring. I would have been very upset to see $$$$$ down the drain. LOL. We decided to store the rings in the safe for worry free. LOL again.
My hubby did not noticed he dropped his wedding ring for 2 days..till a his junior who sat next to him in the office mentioned he found a ring with diamond along the road side.... My husband looked at the ring, checked the engraving on the inside and was shock. He told his staff that was his ring... Talk about a wedding arranged by God...
LMAO.
Besides, any mom should know how annoying it is to wear a diamond ring while taking care of your baby. Westerners' obsession with showing off the ring finger is so obnoxious while they have such high divorce rates regardless of whether they insist married couples wearing rings or not. LOL.
She said in an interview that after marriage he never celebrated her birthday not even once and she had to beg him every time to take her out to a movie or dinner on that day,the hosts were shocked, their marriage had never been good since he is known for being big mama boy, his career seems to go very well and I hope her career will do the same;
Wowwee did she truly say all that to the media??? Is it very recent? I mean... he sounds like a terrible partner but it does not put her in a good light either. Why is she villainizing her husband for the whole world to judge? Thats messed up and probably contributed to the strained relationship.
@Merry: That is just sad. Sounds like he didn't make much effort in their marriage if he couldn't even be bothered to celebrate her birthday once.
She clearly wants public to know she is moving on... She even draw focus on her hands. It cannot be more clear to all. I do wish her well. I am actually fond of her, not a great actress but a sweet girl...I know her since her debut.
Takes 2 to make relationship work. what ever happens...as long as child is taken care off and loved. That is most important.
@ HL: Agreed. I am usually sceptical about these reports but it is pretty obvious she has her ringless finger very much on display all excited and carefree for a reason. She is sending a message
Since she wants it known...she clearly have decided she have done her best and ready to move on.. She even have wings drawn on her hands...
Exactly this. She is not hiding it and after dealing with a decade of divorce speculations, she's earned the right to let it all rest to bed once and for all.
Must be as tiring for her to have to deal with years of speculation from Day 1 of engagement..
Yeah normally I would argue that wearing or not wearing rings isn't indicative of marriage issues, cus I know I'm too lazy to wear mine most of the time.
But in THIS case, it's a very obvious sign she's signaling something. She's doing this on purpose. There are tons of gossip flying around about her marriage's demise, so her not wearing the ring is either promoting their imminent divorce or she's effin with us. Kind of like an EFF U, I'll give you something to talk about, but you'll be WRONG lol.
I used to think she lucked out with CX, cus their start felt very fairytale-like. Him proactively seeking her out and falling in love even with how horrible she looked in that drama lol, and their marriage so soon after dating. But I don't know the intricacies within their marriage. Someone posted he never celebrated her birthday, which I never knew. And all the other unsavory aspects. I'm unsure if I still think she's the lucky one anymore...
I dont wear mine too...
This will probably be the last time I visit this blog and the reason why is the first sentence in this article. Just because some stars use their family drama to make money or remain relevant, doesn't mean that the media automatically has the right to invade the privacy of all celebrities. Using the fact that some stars make money from family drama as something that gives you the right to write about those who would rather keep things private is despicable.
There have been some articles on this blog in the past that I didn't find in good taste and things that you have written that I absolutely didn't agree with, but given that this is tailored as a personal blog and not a news outlet gives you the opportunity to share your opinion and that's fine.
However, I think with this article and even more importantly with the first sentence and the intentions behind it, I can finally see clearly the reason why a disagreed with so much you have written in the past.
You don't write articles purely to provide a personal opinion. You write articles to generate comments, incite fan wars and make money.
I wonder if they will divorce or just stay separated until one of them finds a new partner they want to move on with.
I feel sorry for their son. It sounds like a very acrimonious split if the rumour about Chen Xiao changing his number so she can't contact him is true. Most separated parents will still make sure they can contact each other directly just for the sake of the kids. Hope they will prioritise their child and can co-parent for his sake despite whatever issues they have in their relationship.
I do feel for their son...I bet he might be caught in the middle a great number of time.
Especially as he is old enough to have an understanding of what is going on 🙁
CX gave me an impression of being a less mature one on his side in the marriage per his interview on TV.
If their divorce isn't a rumor, this case would somehow remind me of Barbie Hsu and her ex whose marriage also started all like a fairy tale but ended up really messy.
Regardless if Chen Xiao was a good husband or not, one thing is certain, C-netizens must be happy he is back in China, they dont care what goes on in Taiwan, he has not committed any crime. They never liked his marriage thus him being single will not harm his brand at all.
Her poses seem to say:
Free at last, free at last, FREE AT LAST!
Idk if it's true but there were lots of Chinese articles she cheated on him and beginning of their dating life with Peng Guan Ying.
