I like being surprised and this may be one of those low expectation and decent payoff K-dramas that should be appreciated. Coupang Play K-drama Cinderella at 2 AM, which also airs on cable network Channel A, premiered this week and the reception for such a low key drama isn’t bad. The first ratings are 0.628% and the second episode went up to 0.801%. Starring Shin Hyun Bin and Moon Sang Min, the former I would be very reluctant to cast in a romantic role and the latter is really promising as one of those up-and-coming young actor talents that K-ent has a lot of but sometimes doesn’t know what to do with. I don’t have time this week to start a new drama but did hear positive things about this drama so wanted to post and if anyone has watched please share direct reviews on whether its a yay or nay.

I am truly, truly confused about Moon Sang Min's script selection. It seems as if his team wants him to star in romcoms to further strengthen his fanbase, but so far most of his projects haven't been great and haven't really panned out in that way.
Granted, actors can only choose from the scripts that are sent to them, but after all of the buzz around him from Under the Queen's Umbrella, I expected him to take the path that Jang Ki Yong has currently adopted: Interesting projects with unique scripts, a variety of genres, and a careful selection of roles that (may not necessarily be extremely popular in ratings) but round out his acting expertise. Instead, I think he's trying to play it safe with romantic comedies; although there's nothing against the genre, it seems as if he's mostly casted in and focusing on "puppy-like male lead roles." Ironically, the most risky and interesting move he's taken is becoming the Inkigayo MC with Eunchae, but other than that I had high hopes that he would select more diverse projects instead of taking on another role that's quite similar to his previous ones.
I agree I don't really understand what his agency are doing with his career. Two subpar older woman-younger man romcoms in a year whilst simultaneously marketing him to the tweens on Inkigayo is a weird strategy. It seems they are more interested in fast tracking him to a leading role than looking for good roles and scripts for him. After the success of UTQU he got lots of nominations and even won the New Actor Baeksang award. These can't be the best offers he received after that.
I liked the start, I think I will keep going because Love next door isn't wowing me like everyone else so good to find something.
LND starts cutesy but not musch interesting going on. But the 2nd week installment gives a better, deeper explanation on why the leads are in such states. Still no cliffhangers but getting interesting.
C@2AM started with a bang but i got lost somewhere between the 1st and 2nd eps. must marathon the 1st four eps to get a better understanding of things.
If you don’t have a dislike for romances where the male lead is a lot younger, you will love this.
It seems fluffy but it’s not, there is a darker undercurrent. But it’s like chocolate sweet for the most part but mildly bitter to enhance the sweet taste.
The chemistry is amazing surprisingly.
I like the idea and the story, I'm not a fan of the actors. Shin Hyun-Bin is not lead material for me and Moon Sang-Min is too young for this role. Wedding Impossible was far more entertaining.
It’s my first time encountering both leads. I was surprised at the cautiously happy reviews so far and ended up checking it out.
What’s good:
The premise (of already being together and breaking up, rather than the usual starting point of getting to know you)
What’s not so good:
The styling (FL sometimes looks like Shin Min Ah, and then sometimes has the most distractingly awful bangs and shoddy clothing)
I think they’re quite funny as of now. Just need to prove the romance part
Between the two noona romances airing right now I think Shin Min Ah's looks more palatable than this because the age gap and relationship make more sense to the plot (as much as these romcom plots make sense anyway lol).
