K-pop Star Taeil Removed by SM From NCT Amidst Police Investigation into Sexual Assault Allegations

So it feels disingenuous for K-ent to cover extensively BTS member Suga and his recent drunk driving (drunk riding) scandal and police investigation and not cover this way more serious case. Thankfully the K-media is all over this one as well and for good reason because the allegations if true are baaaaaaad. K-pop star Taeil (Moon Tae Il), a member of SM Entertainment top group NCT and some of its various subunits, has been removed from the group by the agency after news broke that he was being investigated by the police for sexual assault allegations. SM released a very serious statement that Taeil was removed the day after SM was made aware of the allegations, but reportedly the allegations were made to the police in mid-June of this year. What is verified is that the accuser is an adult woman, But unverified and unsubstantiated rumors are that Taeil has been sexually assaulting and blackmailing a young girl since she was 12-years old for a long period of time, so it could still be true that the victim is now an adult and coming forth. If true then this is not just removal from a pop group level scandal, this is likely jail time level offense.

  • Police said his victim is an adult. Not a 12 y.o. whatever it is. He's a psycho. This news broke a few days ago. It was so shocking bcuz he looked so innocent and mature. Oh really, we cant judge someone by its cover.

Rumor said he has a girlfriend he wants to get married to. And still dont know if the victim and the gf are the same person or not. Ught... if they are different, girrrll, RUN!!

    • @Yui they said she was under age and he assaulted and threatened her for years till she became an adult, I read she is 20years old now ; IDK we have to wait and see more news

    • SM treated their male idols pretty good even with scandals. Look at Lucas who was in 'hiatus' after his scandal. The same with Kang In even tho having a repetitive dui scandals.

But Taeil got terminated right away. SM raised his salary in new contract but now they asked him to leave NCT for a mere allegedly scandal?

      But let's see.

      • Exactly. SM literally stood by their artists with major scandals. So for them to immediately cut Taeil out like that, what he did must have been very very serious and severe that SM couldn't find any way to defend him. I don't get why these fangirls still insist on "InNoCeNt UnTiL pRoVeN gUiLtY" BS. Not to mention, "innocent until proven guilty" is only applicable in a trial, the court of public opinion is different. Yoochun, for example, wasn't found guilty technically, but many people think he is anyway and many people think he's disgusting, rightfully so.

    • yes, and men benefit greatly from making it very difficult to 'prove' anything,

For a Korean man to be getting investigated by police for sexual assault AND immediately cut off by his agency (who never did that in the case of previous sexual harassment/assault scandals involving their male idols)....they know something we don't, there's no smoke without fire.

  • Even his group members have unfollowed him... Regardless, what the truth is...for SM to cut the rot so quickly, it is not normal practise for them.

    • @HL exactly. It points at the offence being real and far too major for them to buy their way out of or shield.

  • This is so serious but yet so funny at the same time....The alleged crime is very serious however the coverage of it...it's is so very carefully handled...news is being reported about it but handled well..leaving not much room for rumors and misinformation which get debunked easily...

like no 100 rumors or 1000 articles a day from just one news network about it...WOW...I wonder why Suga case incident couldnt be handled like this given he was even only intoxicated and FELL FROM A SMALL ASS SCOOTER!!!🙄😒😒....
The way how this case is being handled...you'd think Taeil was the one on the Scooter, while Suga is under investigation for SA and other various crimes...lmfao

This was reported on from June...and just now news about it being released...ummm...come to think of it..rumors were circulating that the alleged victim tried to out him on ScMd...but all articles was removed immediately at that time ...yet SM entertainment said they only got news about it in Mid-August...police got this info...and no leak...no reporter saying anything...nothing..lol....

Yet they say BTS company Hybe are the masters at media play, when SM is known to have S.Korea media at their feet...Seems everyone forgot how many artist who went against them SM blacklisted and no media in S.Korea will promote them....SM just knowing is bullshit...they knew all along...they just made sure they are the first to say anything so they can wash their hands of the situation immediately before the other Medias start reported on it.

He has being literally kicked out of of his group...yall. think SM would do that for nothing at all...out of the blue like that??..there is something on him...huge things even...yet they don't want rumors or speculations...and they are the same ones who ate Suga alive with rumors and speculations..fake CCTV footages and lies...lmfao...

  • "Not all men" but it's somehow always men 🙄

I'm not saying that women are perfect angels or anything, but it's men who are committing the majority of the most horrendous crimes known to man. Burning Sun scandal, Nth Room scandal (the fact that there are 200,000+ men in that group chat sharing sexually exploitative videos with each other, some videos even featuring minors and rape victims, says a lot), Miryang gang rape case, and just last month, there's the sad news of an Indian doctor being tortured, gang raped, and murdered brutally in her freaking workplace where she's supposed to be safe.

No wonder many, many Korean women don't want anything to do with Korean men anymore, the 4B movement is growing rapidly, and the birth rate in Korea is getting lower and lower each passing year. So many men are so vile and disgusting, it's insane.

May this Taeil scandal be a wakeup call to many fangirls that, yes, it's okay to admire oppa's visuals and talent, but at the end of the day, we don't know these men. Any of them could be a gross perv at best and a sexual predator at worst. So we shouldn't put them in a pedestal as some innocent, angelic, harmless people. After all, they're still men.

I don't care if pick-me male defenders like Rina call me a misandrist, I said what I said. The statistics and data agree with me that it's mostly men who commit the most heinous crimes and it's a fact that it's mostly male celebrities who get outed as rapists, weirdos, perverts, pedos, etc. Cry about it 🤷🏻‍♀️

No wonder many, many Korean women don'

  • Maybe they want to state an example or he stepped on the toes of someone influencial? When it comes to SA usually they are lenient, more than celebrities who were involved with consensual sex workers.

And yes, the DUI with no remorse is very weird but BTS is a national icon. They can't fall.

    • What "DUI with no remorse"? Both Suga and his agency apologized immediately and followed what the authorities said, while the media started a literal witch-hunt, spreading false CCTV footage and alcohol levels to "prove" that his initial statement is a lie, lining up at the doors of the police station and encircling him to force him to give statements in front of the cameras despite them being informed in advance that there won't be the usual walk of shame, and just generally acting as if he killed multiple individuals in a car accident; the actual truth is that he fell of a kickboard with a seat while taking a sharp corner in front of his house and immediately got up, he was wearing protection, ppl can run faster than his speed at the time and no one would think that that type of vehicle can't be used after drinking a little.
The media doesn't care that BTS are so-called national icons; they actually hate them for being underdogs who succeeded without their help which means they can't take a piece of the pie and it doesn't help that BTS has been fed up with them for a long time and barely interacts with the media. So everytime a BTS member does the smallest mistake, for which everyone else would get a slap on the wrist, the media transforms it into a national scandal. There were 1400 articles written about this, while Taeil had been under investigation since June but the media didn't make a sound and he continued with his activities.
I saw the translation of an article by a Korean professor talking about the absolutely disgusting way in which Suga had been treated and how foreign fans have told her that they've been soured by the insane level of harassment to the point that they have no interest in visiting a country that puts no value on human life (LSK's case happened not even a yr ago, he wasn't even the first celebrity pushed to this extreme by public opinion, and Suga has well-known mental health issues and had suicidal thoughts in the past so we can imagine what could've happened) and I say that it serves South Korea right. They've done nothing but use these guys as if they are the state's property since 2017. Everyone, from the media and politicians to normal citizens, is proud of them when it suits them than tramples them to the ground when it fits their agenda.

      • Exactly, all of this. The hate boner KPop fans have for BTS is insane. They're really mad that an underdog group became global superstars like that while many top 3rd gen KPop boygroups from big companies became irrelevant already lmao. That comment you're replying to is another proof that so many KPop fans are just using the DUI scandal not to hold Suga accountable but to hate on him under the guise of “constructive criticism” because what does she mean by “DUI with no remorse"? That person literally acting like Suga never apologized 🙄

Also, the absurd conspiracy theory that Taeil is only being persecuted now because he “stepped on the toes of someone influential” is hilarious. KPop fans will do everything but hold their faves accountable, including doing mental gymnastics and spouting BS conspiracy theories like that. Nah, your fave is a weirdo, deal with it.

Meanwhile they're always yapping, suddenly acting like social justice warriors, if a member from a group they don't like gets accused of something that's not even as severe as sexual assault. They're hypocrites who use a very serious case like this for their stupid fanwars and to hate on BTS.

To @Usi: Absolutely STFU. This is a serious case with an actual victim involved. Imagine being the victim and seeing stupid fangirls like you deny his crime and spout BS like he only “stepped on the toes of someone influential”. I can't believe that it's 2024 already and fangirls like you, who stand by their criminal faves, still exist. Thank goodness many Taeil fans don't feel the same way as you do and the majority of them are condemning him and unstanning him

    • DUI with no remorse? I thought he issued two letters of apologies already? What makes you think he wasn’t remorseful? Yea, BTS member was wrong but he was on an electric kickboard on the sidewalk. How do you compare that to this potential SA and long term harassment of a woman, who may have actually started suffering from his abuse before she was even an adult? 🥴 BTS “can’t fall” while this guy just “stepped on someone’s toes”? The logic of some of the people on this site baffles me.

    • for the sex offender it's "maybe they want to [make him] an example" and "he stepped on the toes of someone influential"

for the one who was drunk riding a foldable scooter that he didn't even know counted as a 'vehicle' and who already apologised 3 times it's "DUI with no remorse"

you think you're being very clever but you're so easy to see through, I hope you have the decency to be ashamed of yourself for making excuses for this human garbage who is the subject of the post.

  • Yeah, I agree with bashing men and etc but it's men who manufacture, build, train and manage all the female idols and actresses.
The reality is that behind every famous woman there are men backing her up in every shape, form and ways. No woman reach success and fame without the support of men.

    • And why do you think that is? If women were afforded the same rights and treated as equals from the beginning of time, you don’t think they’d be able to do the same thing without needing “the support of men”? These men are also benefiting from making these women famous. They’re not doing it for free or altruistic reasons.
