Disney+ Confirms K-drama Moving Season 2 with Sky High Budget of 50 Billion Won and Hopes it Reserves the Drop in Subscribers

Like any hit entertainment product once it’s done the hype and buzz gradually dies down and to capitalize on it one needs to move fast. Disney+ produced superhero K-drama Moving was the big hit of last summer and carried that momentum for a few more months as viewers heard the reviews and binged in through year end. Disney+ subscribers went up in South Korea noticeably but since then has been dropping again. Disney+ announced this week that it will be producing a season 2 of Moving with the script by original webtoon writer Kangful like he did the script for the first season, and the budget will be an even higher 50 billion won (about $37M USD). I loved Moving so much and would have died for a season 2 but over a year has passed and production hasn’t even started I can’t see this new season arriving until maybe late 2025 and likely 2026 due to filming plus extensive post-production. I’m still excited but feel Disney needs to hustle if it wants to better milk its successful IP.

  • I hope it will be as good as season 1. There are already lot of characters so I guess there won’t be any new cast?

  • I didn't find this drama so good to be honest. There were way too many characters, a lot of violence, and the heroes were completely stupid.

  • I've read the webtoon of Moving and even the other superhero spin-off called Timing (totally different but by the same author so why not..) ~ the sequel to Moving, I remember it not being completely translated yet so I didn't bother back then. I guess I'll have to now 😂

  • This is Every Freaking Show now with all these streaming platforms. It’s been a problem for a minute. With that said, I’m definitely still watching. Lol. Just wish the current culture of multiple produced seasons would switch asap!

  • That’s an issue with Every Freaking Show now after the insurgence of multiple streaming platforms. With that said, I’ll still be tuning in when it releases. Lol. Just wish the current culture of multiple produced seasons would switch asap. The wait time is way too long!

  • Some will not agree with me, but Korean dramas are on the fast decline. There's not one drama out there that I've finished over the last year. Everything is recycled . There's only a few actors now that I look forward to watching. Everyone and everything else are just not as good anyone.

    • I’m actually coming back to kdrama again after not finding any cdrama worth watching. I find it better to watch underrated drama, since they mostly don’t get international recognition since they’re not made for that purpose

    • I agree , its rehashed tropes ,bad acting, shouting and bad plastic surgery. They all look so oily in their series.I also find the majority of onscreen couples not matching .Korea as a whole doesnt interest me anymore

  • I watched quite a few memorable Kdramas in 2023. Moving was one of them and got me back to the excitement of following Kdrama again after a long break. I love Moving to pieces, which I consider on par with Hollywood productions while adding some depth to the storylines that Hollywood is usually lacking. This is good news that they will have a sequel with the same cast (I suppose?). I so much look forward to its premiere although there is a long wait. It's near the year end. Disappointedly there hasn't been very interesting kdrama in 2024 so far, lacking creativity and recycling old ideas and tropes all over. Hopefully Kdrama will treat me well the following years.

  • I really look forward for a season 2. Moving is worth watching. Really loved the story it tells. And just please, ensure that the sequel will be performed by the same cast of the Moving. Thanks.
